Is this normal? My baby's head

DD is 3 weeks old. On her left side of her head the skull feels totally smooth, like on my head. But on her right side, near her temple, it's like the bones haven't come together yet and if you run your hand along the side of her head there's like an indentation between her temple and the next skull bone. I wish I would have noticed it before her appt last week!

    yep that's normal. her skull fontanels don't come together when she's born (they're like that so she can squish through the birth canal).....it takes awhile before they fuse, that's why there's an indentation

    this is just my guess, but i'm going to say it's OK. my dd had a horizontal ridge all along the circumference of her skull on the back. She's 4 months now and it's totally smooth. Call the nurse at your pedi's office. they can probably help/reassure you over the phone.?
