Gnomeo & Juliet - mini review

I finally got out to see this movie. It was cute, not Shrektastic, but cute. There was a pretty funny little bit about a souped up lawn mower sales pitch. The animation and color was awesome and there were some fun actors in it.

Overall, it was kind of like the writers sat in a room and brainstormed every Garden gnome clique, joke, reference and word that could possibly be altered to have the word "gnome" in it, then wrote a "plot", loosely based on Romeo & Juliet, of course.

.There was a "scene" that I thought was a somewhat veiled reference to little persons and I thought that was offensive. Lets just say that they were tossing the gnome, you get the idea. I was hoping they wouldn't go there, but they did.

Save this one for Netclicks/blockbusters, IMO.

Thanks for giving us the head's up.

I am so interested in seeing Jane Eyre when it comes out but I know it will not happen.

Hmmm.  I saw this with Pumpkin and don't remember being offended or even seeing that part.  Oh, wait.  I do remember seeing that.  I guess it went waaaay over my head, lol.
