BFN on 1st treatment cycle= worst one yet

After a year of TTC naturally, I was feeling hopeless by the end anyway. In other words, by the time I would POAS, I was not really holding out hope of a positive result. However, this was my first IUI and it gave me renewed hope. The BFN this morning felt like a punch in the gut. I had 2-3 mature follicles and DH had a superb sample. How could my body have any better circumstances than that? I can't help but feel broken.

{{hugs}} I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. It just feels so unfair to know that everything looked great, but it still didn't happen. Remember that even IVF doesn't work every time, and they're putting a fertilized egg directly where it needs to be. Who knows why it doesn't work sometimes?

I hope that you get your BFP soon. It's really frustrating to keep trying and keep getting negatives, especially when you're trying ART.

I was the same way a few months ago when I had my 1st IUI, you finally feel like you have a chance again. It's so hard to see that BFN!

I am truly sorry alhal. You are not broken! For whatever reason the IUI didn't work and that sucks. I usually blame my RE when the it doesn't work even though, rationally, I know better.

I'm so sorry-I know how you feel. With my failed ivf, we had perfect embies, hormone levels looked great-still didn't work. We will never know the answer, but we just have to push through and fight. You are not alone.

Sorry for your news...there is something about that 1st IUI. I'm on my 2nd IUI and I feel myself being numb. I feel like I don't expect a positive anymore. I know it's bad to think that way so I'm trying to get those thoughts out of my head. I'm trying to let myself get my hopes up but my brain is protecting itself and not letting me.

Unfortunately, we all know how tough it is.....

So sorry you are feeling this way.. IF sucks sooo much.. I hate it more then anything in the world.. I really hope everything works out for you.. Did you do your first IUI with out any treatment meds?

I'm so so sorry alhal. I know exactly where you are at right now. I am doing my first IUI this month, and I'm fighting with myself to not be so hopeful because I know it will hurt to see another negative. Just remember that the odds are in your favor with 3 to 4 IUIs. The succes rate is there, so stay hopeful. ((hugs))
