I know I am regressing with this question....

I am so tired of feeling tired all the time.  All of us are now at the point where sleeping is plain uncomfortable.  Would it be crazy of me to go out & buy one of those pregnancy body pillows?  Every morning I wake up with terrible hip & lower back pains.  I was talking to my mother about it yesterday and she suggested just go out & buy that body pillow with one of the gift cards I got from my baby shower.

Do you think it's worth it with only about 6 weeks of being pregnant left?

  • I got one early on and it helped but now no matter what I uncomfortable when I sleep. If I am on one side to long my leg starts to burn :(

  • I love mine, but with 6 weeks left, I'd maybe think about just getting one of those big body pillows. I saw them at Target for like $9.
  • Are you planning to have more babies?  Can you throw it on your registry and use a completion coupon?

    Mine is worth every penny!

  • Mine is not helping much at this point... I would just buy a $10 body pillow from target or walmart.
  • Mine personally stopped helping a while ago. Sleeping in the recliner is the only thing that does!

Save your money at this point.  You can accomplish the same set up with a couple of pillows (preferably king sized ones) for between your legs and a regular sized pillow to wedge under your belly and hug to your chest.

  • I loved mine in the beginning, then grew to hate it.  I still don't like it, BUT if I dont use it I can't sleep.  It is a true love-hate relationship.

  • Thanks for the replies, ladies!  Hmmm...I really don't plan on having anymore babies.  Considering that I don't plan on having anymore babies (this is a one & done deal for me) & I have such little time left - I think I am going to go for a cheap body pillow instead.  I am desperate to try anything at this point!

  • I only have three weeks left and am considering it, that's how uncomfortable I am!

  • I agree- just get a cheap body pillow. I have a Snoogle (is that what they're called?) that I bought when I was pregnant with DD and I hate it this time around. I really don't think it's worth the money and I can't wait until I get rid of it.

I agree! I wish I had a body pillow so I could use my "normal" pillow under my head.

I slept with one of these before pregnancy and have used it the entire time and it is great.  I would just try that since you don't have much time left.

  • Yes, I would get one even with 6 weeks left.  You never know...you might can still use it while your body is getting back to normal, or have other use for it once the baby comes.

Also, they range between $10-$20, so is that really a lot of money considering the pain you are in when you wake up.  I think $10/$20 is a fine cost to pay if it means some comfort while you are trying to sleep.

  • For me I am still a little uncomfortable while sleeping at this point, but my pillow deffinately helps with it. Especially the hip pain! Also, have you looked into a belly/back brace? That made a huge difference in my lower back pain. :)
  • Mine helps my hip/back pain... I think you should splurge. Anything to help sleep right now is worth it. You could always sell it after too and recoup some cash.
