I need help please-Design my room! NBR

so, I am trying to hang some pictures above my bed and I can't decide how to do it.  I have two photos I would like to hang but everywhere I look it says things should be hung in groups of three.

One picture is of DD wrapping her hand around my ring finger so you can see my wedding band and her tiny fingers as an infant.  The second is of DS's feet. They are both black and white and would match the room nicely.

now, here are a few things I have heard about decorating.  

1. always hang things in groups of three or in odd numbers-I don't have a third picture that would go with the "theme".  

2. You shouldn't put pictures of your children as the main focus of your room.  It should be more "romantic" and less family oriented.   

So as I am ordering my prints, I just can't bring myself to press submit order...The stupid desing rules keep ringing in my head!  

Help me, what should I do? Get different art? Find a third photo? or just go with the two that I have and love?

    I think it's fine to hang pics of your babies, but maybe not above the bed. Well, that would kill the mood for me... If you don't think it would make your DH go limp looking at pics of his children while being intimate with you, go for it. And I wouldn't worry about the rule of 3. I'd put the pics above a dresser or chair.

    I also heard you aren't supposed to put kids pictures in your room. For my birthday I wanted to get these neat frames at Pier one and put my boys pictures in them and my sister was totally against the idea. She said your bedroom is the place for you to get away and not always think about your kids. After I thought about it, it did make sense. It does seem alittle silly but after thinking about it I agreed and didn't put them up.

    And for decorating, yes, decorating in odd numbers is what you "should" do. I do it with most things I'm decorating. My mother taught me this and I watch a ton of HDTV.

    Sorry to vote against both of your ideas. In the end it's your room and you should do it to your taste. If it were me, I would opt for getting some neat art or decor from Pier One, that what I did. I'm also not a huge fan of putting pictures of your family all over your house, especially the living room. But I have a frame with 3 pictures in it of my boys on the living room wall and I LOVE it. It's just enough.

    you can put whatever you want on your walls. I was going to hang 3 pictures about our bed but found out I needed a 4th. Over by MH bureau I plan to hang DS 1st year photo collage and will add DD's to it when we complete it.

    How big are the photos and what size bed do you have?
