Never thought this would happen..

BD started dating someone else while I was pregnant. I was obviously pretty upset/bitter/pissed beyond belief/depressed/etc.. considering the fact that I was pregnant with his child, and he chose to totally ignore me for about 6 months of it, and use the clause "if its mine" for the other 3. Being the responsible mommy that I am, I have chosen to be civil with BD for the sake of DS, though in reality I have many moments that I want to curb stomp him (I hope im not alone in this..) DS goes to his dads during the day while I work 7-4 mon-fri, and of course BD's girlfriend is there pretty often. I went to pick DS up the other day and the girlfriend was out front, so I started talking to her. Then I ran into her later that night at a restaurant and talked to her again. Turns out, despite my efforts, I actually like this girl. Under different circumstances I would totally be her friend. Is this crazy?

    That's quite the situation...but I don't see it as being such a bad thing. At least you can be comfortable now with her being around your LO. And if things don't work out between the two of them for what ever reason, you might at least end up with a new friend out of it.

    I don't think its crazy, I think its pretty cool- at least if you couldn't be with BD, now you know that you approve of the person that is around LO when you're not there. I guess that's the best you could ask for in that situation. Just because you and BD didn't work as a couple doesn't mean you all can't be family- and that could include the person he's seeing, especially if they are around your LO.

    Oh lordy how I envy that scenario! It totally sucks having your LO's BD in another relationship, but since it already happened and you get along with her, that's fantastic! Maybe it's like a silver lining???

    I agree with PP's and I think it's awesome that you like her! Atleast you can be comfortable with him being around her. Plus, if you guys get along she is more likely to listen to what you have to say regarding him!

    Just this. DB's last gf wasn't half bad. Too bad she realized what a user (not the drug type) DB is, and got out of there fast! (I don't blame her, but I do miss the fact that she was actually a normal person and not a psycho like his others....)

    I think you should consider yourself lucky! Not too many ladies can say they like their DB's SO. At least you can be comfortable with who your DB is bringing around LO.

    Give yourself credit, at least you can have a civil relationship.  I am always of the mindset that you shouldn't be mad at the other woman, she wasn't the one who was in a relationship, your X was.

    After today, I might even like her more. Jude was super fussy and coughing a lot when he was crying, to the point where he threw up all over himself. BD tried calling me but I was at work and didn't have access to my cell phone. So she came to my work to let me know what was going on, and to get his insurance card from me because she made him a doctors appointment. Turns out he was just gassy, hence the fussiness. But even BD admitted he wouldn't have thought to make drs appointment had she not mentioned it.
