Elliptical today at 31ish week pregnant!

I only did it for 30 minutes, but it felt so good to get my pulse up and sweat for a bit.  I followed it with some stretching to keep my back nice and loose.  

I also rode my bike to and from the fitness (3 miles total) which also was something I thought that was over for me.

 Anyone else out there had a fairly inactive 2nd trimester and then all of sudden bounce back in the 3rd feeling great and ready to exercise?

I did a walk/run yesterday too.  This is just so surprising to me!

  • That's awesome!  Nicely done.  I had a non-active 1st trimester, but picked it back up in 2nd.  I'm still exercising (jogging, light weights) at almost 34w, but have slowed down a lot.  I don't care how slow I am, I love the way I feel afterwards.  Let's keep it up.

  • I had to stop running early in my first trimester, which was really disappointing. I have Crohn's Disease and it started really acting up when I ran. There's nothing quite like being mile down the trail when you get the sort of belly ache that makes you see stars.

     

    Anyway, I feel great now at 21 weeks and I'm hoping to get back on the treadmill next week. I'll have to keep things pretty slow but it will feel so good to move again. I don't think I'd trust myself to run outside again though until the baby arrives.

  • I got a great energy boost in my 2nd trimester, had no problems working out as normal...now, I am still jogging, walking, doing my stepper and weights, but I am definitely moving a little slower with each passing day!!
