I've used up all my sick days. I have been going to work when I am sick just to save days for when LO is sick (bad I know). It's getting warm here and the pollen is miserable for me. I can't tell if she is sick or has an allergy going on. No temperature, but cranky and stuffy.
So should I stay home with her tomorrow? I need to make a decision in the next hour or so because I have to call around for a substitute teacher.
Re: working moms - When to stay home with sick baby?
No fever and I send LO to daycare but I mention to the teacher or on LO's daily sheet that she was not feeling well the night before due to _____.
I hope you and your LO get past the allergies quickly!
wow! DD current cold is been going on for 2 months now. I would have been fired by now. We brought her to the ped a few times, nothing can be done. Its "just a cold"
We send LO...I have time off, but I can't take time off every time LO is teething or sniffling. He always has a fever and runny nose when teething. We finally had to give the day care a permission slip and a bottle of tylenol (they have a full time nurse on site). One of the teachers finally clued us in that we could do that.
I took like 4 days off because of him teething! Ugh. Have you tried the infant Claritin? Ask your ped (obviously!), but we give him 1/2 tsp per day per ped instructions and it makes a WORLD of difference. He inherited my DHs family allergies.
I am down to 1 sick day for the rest of this school year...so I understand where you are coming from!
I send DD as long as she doesn't have a fever. I have an awesome daycare, though, and they would call me if they really thougth she should be picked up. Its an old high school friend and her mom that run the daycare with only a few children, so she probably gets extra TLC when she needs it without taking away from the others.
Btw...you have to find your own sub?!?!
