At his 6 month checkup, our pedi reassured me that, yes, Alex can STTN without nursing. With him sleeping in the PNP in our room, I had been getting up to nurse him at night every 1, 2 or 3 hours when he'd fuss. (I know...I know...but it just sort of happened...
)
Last night, we put Alex to bed in his own room and crib for the first time (other than naps). Knowing I would get up to check on him often, DH volunteered to sleep in Alex's room, handle any wake-ups and let me sleep. (Alex's room is up a floor and on the opposite side of the house - a bit of a trek in the middle of the night.)
It was a success!! Alex woke a few times, DH turned on the sleep sheep and he drifted right back to sleep. (That will likely be our next challenge...) No nighttime nursing or bottles necessary.
DH plans to sleep nearby the next few nights and then we'll use monitors. Yay, Sleep!!
