I think last time I did a big switch-over, it was more seasonal, and I had certain clothes I wanted him to wear while it was cold.
Now, I have LOTS of 6-month clothes, some of which he's hardly worn (maybe one or two he hasn't worn at all) and hardly any 9-month clothes. But some of his 6-month clothes look like this on him now:
Anyone else wait too long to move up in sizes, or is it just me?
Re: Clothing sizes: When do you switch?
We switch once they are starting to get too small. Nice description, huh? lol.
But seriously, once it is tighter to button or if the sleeves/pants start getting too short, we switch. It is bittersweet, because I always have something adorable for them to wear in the next size... but my baby is getting big!

He has really long legs, so his pants are usually too short. Usually the body length and width will be too small simultaneously, though. I just feel bad once I've squeezed something on him, so I don't want to pull it right off after that. I just think, "This is the last time you're wearing this one."
Bahahaha! Nice picture.
B still fits in 0-3 month clothes even though he is 25.5 inches long, he just now weighs 12 pounds. I don't do a whole move at one time, just have him wear what fits and box up what doesn't.
Same. If I put something on and it's too small, I take it off right away and store it. I then go through her current stash and see if anything else looks like it'd also be too small (goes into storage), and look through the next size up to see if anything fits small (joins her current stash).
This.
We have switched too many times in his very short life so far. I find they grow out of footed sleepers the fastest. Onesies, the slowest. Our "Little" One is in 9 month sizes right now. We still have a few 6mo clothes that fit after the last growth spurt. DH & I now introduce C as "the baby that ate our baby" *L* (He was born @ 8 1/2 lb. Now is just over 17lbs.)

For my DD, I just switch when something gets to be too small for her. I check her outfits once a week and swap out what no longer fits. I want to get use out of everything. I don't want to make the same mistake as i did with my son, and not pay enough attention to his clothes. I just sent a garbage bag full of his clothes to a consignment shop get sold!
The sizing is so wierd. I hate how the sizes aren't standard. She's 4.5 months old, She has a 0-3 mos outfit from Carters that she's just fitting into, but i just put away a 6 month sleeper from the Disney Store, yet a 6 month Disney outfit from Walmart is huge on her LOL!
