When did you start TTC?

Hi everyone-

I found out on Feb. 14th and miscarried Feb 28. It has all happened so quickly I don't even know what to think!

Anyway- I'm just curious when everyone started TTC again? I miscarried naturally, no D&C- when I went the the dr, she said we could start trying again immediately. I dont know how I feel about it all- so just curious about everyone else's experiences. This was my first pregnancy and miscarriage.

So sorry for your loss.

My OB told me to wait one full cycle, so we did. Some women have been able to try again right away, and for others it takes a little while longer to heal emotionally. We've been trying since November.

Welcome to the board, but sorry to hear of your loss.

Originally, my doctor said after two AF cycles, but that was with a D&C. My body couldn't wait until the appt, so I ended up miscarrying on my own (with the help of an ER doc). So, it became after one AF cycle. However, you must keep in mind that you need to be physically AND mentally ready to ttc again.

I had a D&C on 12/29/10. My doc told us to wait 2 cycles before TTC. I just started my second cycle yesterday (1st AF), so we have another 4 weeks at least before we can start.

So 4 months at a minimum (and thats IF this cycle isn't crazy long)

I am so sorry for your loss. Starting TTC again is different for everyone, and it is best to listen to your dr. Mine said to wait 2 to 3 cycles, and we went with 3, when we felt we were emotionally ready. Good luck to you!

im sorry for your loss.

my doctor also said we could TTC right away (i m/c'd at the end of january). i was planning on it but i ovulated while i was basically still spotting and sex hurt for me.

if you are okay with it and can find your O then go for it.

I had my D&C 1.12.11 we were told to wait 2 cycles. We decided to only wait 1 cycle before trying.

I am sorr for your loss.

We could TTC again after 1 cycle. This is our first month back trying. I was ready to try again, but that isn't the right choice for everyone. Do what you feel comfortable with.

I had a D&C and my dr. said to wait 1 cycle. DH and I plan on TTC again as soon as we are able, but some people don't feel emotionally ready right away. For me, I feel ready to try again as soon as possible. Unfortunately, my body isn't cooperating and we're still waiting for AF to show up.

My Dr said to wait two cycles. I waited five months though. I just needed that time to feel like myself again, and start to heal. I think it was a good decision for me to wait a while. Thats not for everyone though. As long as your dr said its ok, you should ttc when ever your ready.

I was told to wait three cycles both times. The first time I waited two and this last time we weren't emotionally ready until six so we are just now back. Just follow your doctors orders and your own heart to make this decision. I also just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss. I am sorry for your loss. My doc said wait one cycle. It took 12 weeks for that cycle to come. We are in our first cycle of trying again and I am waiting to O! GL to you!

I am sorry for your loss. I m/c in December and didn't get AF for 79 days. We were not TTA during that time but I didn't chart the whole cycle or take full advantage of O time, either. Now that I am in my 2nd cycle post-m/c, we are timing everything as much as possible to take advantage of O.

As long as your doctor said it was okay to start trying again, you should chart and find out when you O to help with the timing.

As much as I wished we had gotten pregnant right away after the loss, I know that the time I've had in between has allowed me to grieve and recover more. Many ladies on here TTA for 1-2 cycles per doctor's orders.

Take time to process your loss and lean on the ladies here to help you get through it. ::hugs::

I'm so sorry for your loss. We started trying again as soon as we had the all clear. It helped me to focus on something positive instead of my grief. But it is a really personal decision and you need to make sure you feel comfortable regardless of what you decide.

This is my 1st month actively TTC again, my m/c was in Feb and I waited one full cycle. Everyone is different but as always we suggest following your Dr.s advice

I am so sorry for your loss. After my miscarriage, I waited one cycle to start trying again. That is what the doctor told us to do. After we lost our daughter, our doctor told me to wait 4 months because I had a c-section. But we weren't ready emotionally. We waited seven. You have to go with when you feel ready both physicaly and emotionally. ((hugs))

Welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My dr said we could begin trying after my first cycle. We TTC that next cycle and it was just too difficult for me. I wasn't ready. Were going to start TTC again in a year. I think everyone is different and you may change your mind a million times. You just have to do what's right for you and your husband.

We were told both times to wait one month before TTC again, but every doctor gives different advice. It's best to follow what they say. Since your doctor said you can try again right away, I'd say wait until you feel ready.

I have the same story. Found out 2/14 and m/c 2/28. My first too.

DH and I will start trying again next cycle, but that's at the ok from my doctor. I would just call and see what your doctor suggests.

If you do a little research, you'll find that there is a lot of conflicting information out there. As your doctor has given you the go ahead, it is really up to you, and depends on when you feel physically and emotionally ready. There is a lot of new research that says "no need to wait" and that "women are more fertile after miscarriage".

I had a natural m/c as well and my doctor told me origionally to wait two cycles, however I read up online and did lots of research and when I went back for a follow up she gave me the green light for TTC after one normal cycle. My first cycle after my m/c was right on time and everything was normal.

**HUGS** I struggled a lot with the decision as well, because I was/am so afriad of m/c again. You'll make the choice for you.

I also miscarried naturally on Feb. 23rd and my Dr. told me to wait two cycles.

I am very ready to try again, and would have been ready had she said we could try that day. It's all about what you and your H feel comfortable with. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I technically followed my Dr's orders. I miscarried naturally at 8 wks 2 days, and my Dr asked that we wait three natural cycles before trying again. We thought about trying again after the three cycles but we decided to wait until after our wedding. We have about a month and a half more of TTA then its finally back TTC!
