If you still have 10+ pounds to lose, come in...

PLEASE tell me I am not the only one.  I have 15 pounds to lose as of today.  I have to go back to work in 4 weeks and there is no way I will be back in my old wardrobe by then.  I gained 40 lbs with both pregnancies and it took me a good 4 months to lose it with my 1st, so I shouldn't be surprised and know it takes time.  I am EBF and exercising everyday so I am doing all that I can.  But I see all of these posts of girls that lost all of their weight by 2 weeks PP and I want to cry. Who else is still fat with me? 

This post is brought to you by a flabby sad woman that has to go to a wedding this weekend in a moo moo because nothing else fits. :(

  • For me it depends on what weight I want to end up at... I was down 20 lbs last week, and have 30 to go until my pre-pregnancy weight but my doctor, husband and family would rather I keep some of the weight. I want to too, but I don't know how much. I'm thinking I'd like to lose 15 or so more...

  • I am 12lbs from my pre pregnancy weight but 15 from my goal weight so I'm there with you.  Problem is that I stopped breastfeeding and have gained a few lbs back making me 12lbs away.  So keep on breastfeeding if you can it's a fabulous way to lose weight!

  • I have 20 to go to pre-preg, then 10 more to goal. I fully expect it to take 6 months or so. I don't know how you are exercising every day!! Both DDs just went down for a nap, and I pray #2 stays that way (always questionable). So I could get on the treadmill, but that really doesn't sound fun at all. Ugh.

    Tell me how you are doing it? 

    I am EBFing also, but that didn't cut it with DD1, and I don't think it will this time either. 

    As soon as it gets warm enough to have DD2 out, I am going to walk/jog as much as possible. Should be this week!

    Reese I MAKE myself get on the elliptical at least 5 times a week.  I DVR a bunch of shows and watch one 30 minute show while I exercise.  I usually do it while Charleigh is napping and I put Maggie in the bouncy and usually she will sleep while I do it.  If not, I wait until after dinner when DH can watch the girls.   I am starting the 30 day Shred tonight to see if that can help jump start some extra weight loss.  I figure Charleigh can do it with me.  She will think it is hilarious :)

  • ME!! I gained 40lbs and still have 15 to lose. It is very frustrating, and then to see all these other women already down to their pp weight - ew. Makes me want to throw up! Haha! We'll get there eventually. No worries.
  • I have about 10 pounds to lose and I'd LOVE to lose another 5 to 10 pounds after that. I'm in pretty decent shape but I feel like I've got a TON of toning to do. And my butt and thighs feel really flabby this time. I'm sorta worried that this extra weight is going to be hard to come off as this was my 3rd baby. Can't wait to get into a good workout routine!

  • I've already surpassed my pre-pg weight, but am 12 lbs away from my ideal weight. I am usually around 155 but was 175 when I got pg. I'm at 167 right now. I don't knw how I'm going to lose this last bit, DH is always working on his car and I  don't get time to myself.

  • um...me! I gained 65 and have 45 more to go. I am going to start walking this week and hopefully will be cleared in another 3 weeks to start exercising. I was told to hold off for 2 months since I lost a major amount of blood. I signed up to run a marathon in October so hopefully, once I can start running, the pounds will come off.

  • I am right there with you!  I still have about 15 pounds to lose as well (gained 40) and was just wondering if I could wear yoga pants when I go back to work in a few weeks.  I feel like I'm still very wide, too.  I am also EBFing and had to completely cut out dairy, so I'm waiting for those to help me out a little!

    And I totally agree with you, the posts about losing weight so fast made me want to cry.

  • Well I'm within 2-3 lbs of my pre preg weight, but I need to lose an additional 10 to 15 lbs.  Problem is, I keep eating sweets!  I just took brownies out of the oven :)  So I guess I can't complain haha.

  • Yeah, I gained 50 lbs, lost an easy 25 and seem to be stalled. I broke down and bought some cheap jeans on sale yesterday and my a$$ sure is a 14 now :( Of course my stomach is down to my pre-pregnancy tiny waist so I look like a friggin bowling pin. DH also told me my baby pooch is "graceful, because don't Greek statues all have those?" ...Not sure if that is a compliment or not... >.<

  • I gained 45 lbs and still have 20 to go to be at my pre-pregnancy weight but I'd like to lose another 5-10 additional lbs.  The first 25 lbs came off easy in the first 2 weeks but since then I've stopped losing :(  I've been trying to work the treadmill in when I can to help but that doesn't happen everyday!  Hopefully I'll lose it all or most of it by the time I go back to work or I will have to buy all new work clothes.  And I broke down and bought 2 pairs of cheap jeans too because I refuse to wear maternity any more and don't always feel like wearing my yoga pants when I go out :)

  • I gained around 60 lbs, and am 20-30 lbs away from my pp weight. I am waiting for my 6 week apt (next week) to restart weight watchers (I lost 60 lbs on their plan in 2009), and my exercise routine. I am hoping to get the majority of it off my the summer, but I am not expecting to fit back in to my pre-pregnancy jeans, ever, but we shall see. 

  • Right there with you! I have 23 pounds to lose. I gained 47 total and the first 24 fell off like they were nothing within the first 2 weeks PP. Since then, nothing. No gain, no loss. Wondering what the heck is going on!!

  • I gained 64lbs! I am down 28lbs and have 26lbs to go. I fit in my fat jeans which were HUGE on my before I got pg and now they are tight and I have a double gut! ish...I feel like I just have this hug fat blob of flab of a stomach...my waist is shrinking but I have this big slab of fat!

  • I'm still 7 pounds away from my weight when I got pregnant with DD2, 12 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight with DD1, and about 30 pounds over my ideal weight. I am desperate to be able at least to get into my bigger wardrobe I bought after DD1 before I go back to work in 5 weeks.

  • I gained a whopping 60 lbs. When I came home from the hospital, I'd only lost 5 of it! Gotta love all the fluids they pump you full of. I'm now about 25-30 above my pre- pregnancy weight. I'm hoping EBF will continue to slowly make a difference on the scale. As soon as it's warm, I plan on doing a lot of walking and will probably start yoga classes about 6 weeks pp. I'm an over achiever, so I'm going to try and shed an additional 15 lbs.
  • I've 18lbs away from my pre pregnancy weight, but about 50 away from my goal weight. It's gonna take a while!

  • Honey don't feel bad. I gained 45lbs with this pregnancy and still have about 25 more to go to get to my prepg weight :(  And my LO is 1 month old today so. I was EBF but unfortunately had to switch to FF :( But I am trying to eat healthy and exercise to lose the weight. It took a while with the other three so I'm sure it will this time too. Hang in there.

  • I have 15 to go as well. :o( I gained almost 40 and lost 23 pounds right away. I'm hoping these last 15 don't take forever and that I am actually able to lose them all!

  • I gained 33 and am down 22.  I cant fit into any of my pp pants and very few shirts. my hips got so much bigger, i dont think ill ever fit into them again.  plus i have this lovely fat slap that will take forever to get rid of...ugh
