My DD is so different from DS (although at this age, it could just be personality, not a difference between boys and girls).
DD has been the happiest, most easy going baby since she was born. She loves to sleep, and started STTN at 9weeks. DS didn't STTN until he was 7 months, after we ferberized him. He always wanted to be held, and required a lot more attention than DD did.
DS also was on the earlier end of the motor milestones, but didn't start clapping, waving, or otherwise communicating until about 12 months. DD is still not crawling, but is clapping, doing "so big!", and started babbling a lot earlier than DS did.
Huge differences between my 2. My dd is sooooo easy going and always happy and smiling. She also is much more delicate and cries easier when something startles her. My son was always active and restless. He is like a tank and can fall 100 times with no crying. I think the second might be laid back because she is less spoiled and doesn't get all the attention. It is very interesting and fun to see how different they are. love having 1 of each.
Now I'm going to throw a wrench in things. My DS is #1 and is super laid back! He was the easiest baby (although didn't sttn until 7 months), but overall, a dream! DD is also great, but easy in different ways. She's a drama queen in a way he never was. But they each have their perks. He was a great napper but would only nap in his crib. She's an okay napper but will fall asleep in the car in 5 minutes. I think it's all baby-dependent (maybe not so much gender).
Mine are different. DS is laid-back. DD is stubborn. DS is extremely outgoing. DD is a little more shy, but once she is comfortable she is very affectionate. DD gets her feelings hurt and cries easier.

DD was very calm and laid back. She wanted to interact with you, not play with toys. She learned to crawl early, and walk VERY early. She had tons of problems eating. She's still super skinny. She is very outgoing if she knows you, but was always hesitant around men (still is).
DS was very needy. He LOVES to play with toys. He eats like it's his job and interacts with ANYONE who will give him the time. He's very active, has been crawling since 4 months, pulling up since 5, and cruising since about 5.5. He's starting to stand alone now. I'm sure he'll be walking within the month.

The same for us. DS is only 5 mos old so he's not talking or anything. He is much more of a needy baby than DD ever was. He is still up every 2-3 hrs at night to nurse and want to be held ALL the time. DD was so independent and DS is such a momma's boy (which I secretly LOVE ).

The only difference I see is the "way" they play. Boys play more "rough" than girls. But you honestly won't notice that until around 18months-2years.
Other than that, milestones, etc. depends on the kid.
My 2 girls had very different experiences with milestones......and they are the same gender.
