Are you guys just using WholesomeBabyFood.com for recipes and proper storing info? We are still a few weeks behind, but I'm one of those annoying planners who likes to have things figured out ahead of time.
This. It even gives you tips on how to prepare each item.

Somewhat. I also received some info from our pedi, and I had the williams sonoma Cooking For Baby cookbook. We just combined it all together.
The US is weird about baby food, though. There are all these rules about what baby can and can't have when, that the rest of the world does not abide by. (In Canada, pureed proteins like meat and chicken can be one of baby's first foods. Where my friend is from in Hungry, egg whites are a good first solid solid food.)

Meats in the US also have a lot of extra carp in them - hormones and whatnot. I imagine the more stringent rules are because of that.

While I do understand the caution on a lot of this stuff, I do think that there is such a thing as OVERLY cautious IMO :S If you notice even beech nut has some of their meat purees labeled as step 1
I've been using cookbooks by Annibel Karmel (I think that's her name) and they've been awesome! It's so much fun and DS loves all of them so far (except peas).
