Rough Day :(

Ugh! I'm feeling frazzled to say the least right now :( Today is DH's first day back at work so I'm home alone w/ DS for the first time. His eyes have been gunky and crusty since yesterday(I was waiting to call the dr on monday) and of course they got 10x worse today and I'm starting worry that he may be allergic to our pets Sad He also has been sneezing a ton and I feel like everything is covered in pet hair and making it worse!  On top of that when I was changing his diaper earlier the ring from his circumcision started to come off and is bleeding! I called his pedi and he told me to put iodine on it Indifferent and to bring him in first thing in the morning so he can remove it. I can't bring myself to put iodine on it and have him scream his head off from the pain(especially without DH here) so I put neosporin on his diaper instead. I HATE this feeling of knowing DS is in pain and that there really isn't anything I can do about it. I just want DH to come home Crying

Re: Rough Day :(

  • I'm sorry for your rough day.  I hope your husband comes home soon.  I have no suggestions for you on the circumcision I have a DD and a girl in the oven.  I know its hard for when your babies are hurting.  Take a deep breath and just stare at his angelic face and it will get better.  Good luck.

  • The iodine won't hurt - it will not burn at all, it may just feel cold to him.  It will kill any germs on the wound.  Also, he may have blocked tear ducts, you can gently massage right above his eyelids periodically, like each time you change his diaper, for example, and that should help.  Babies that young usually don't have allergies yet.  Hope you get an appointment with you Dr. today!

  • That sounds so awful!  I also really, really hope he isn't allergic to your pets after all, your dog looks so sweet!  Keep us posted on what the pediatrician says...
  • I'm sorry for your rough day, mama!!  But the eye thing is usually normal.  It happened to Jake and turned out to be a blocked tear duct.  Wash your hands really well and massage the inner corner of his eye...but more towards the nose.  That helps.  You can also take a warm cloth to it to remove the gunk.  Jake's eye looked like hell, but it's clearing up today and looks so much better!

Don't worry!  You'll get the hang of everything.  DH has been on vacation, so I've had tons of help, but expect my freak out post next week!  LOL
