BLW question

I noticed at the grocery store they have pre-cut sweet potatoes in a "fry" shape. The only ingredient listed is sweet potato, and they are ready to bake (or fry, if you wanted).

Do you think that would be okay to use? I guess I am just weary of hidden ingredients, preservatives, etc.  I also am wondering if they are too skinny. Do you cut yours in a true fry shape, or bigger?

TIA!

Re: BLW question

  • Sounds great. I wish we had something like that.

  • We have a similar product here that the produce dept prepares onsite, and the exp date is always a few days out so I haven't worried about preservatives. We love them and can't beat the convenience.

eta: that shape worked well for Camy from the beginning.
  • Thanks!! I did try them, and the size and shape worked well..

But I think DD is still not ready for solids. She puts everything in her mouth, EXCEPT food haha. I made that and baked apple slices, and they all would stick to her hands and she would bang them on the tray to get them unstuck. They made great toys, but I think she just doesn't want food yet. She would get a little in her mouth, then get mad and take it out. I guess I will try again in a few weeks!

  • Sounds good to me. She's pretty young for the BLW approach anyway. We started inconsistently at 6 months, and DD2 didn't really seem to get the concept until closer to 7 months.
