Spontaneous Bleeding due to Cervical Polyps

Hello bumpies! I was recently diagnosed with cervical polyps at 18 weeks, after my third trip to the emergency room. I had had spontaneous vaginal bleeding since week 16 and no one could tell me why...the baby is doing great, but I have bright red bleeding or brown (old blood) out of nowhere when I wipe. Anyone else going through this and should I be worried of any complications? The dr. said that the polyps would probably detach during childbirth.

    I had this during my last pregnancy. I always had random bleeds that scared me. Both my MFM and OB assured me it makes absolutely no difference in the pregnancy. I just had it removed at my 6 week check-up. Basically it is just annoying.

    Thanx for your feedback. So I don't have to be checking in everytime I bleed? It's my first baby & and its totally scary! I was put on bed rest.

    I would let them know just so they can keep an eye on it, but the point is if you DO bleed, you don't have to worry at all or go to the ER. It will happen, but as long as it's coming from that polyp, it means nothing.

    I had the same thing.  I was have the same kind of bleeding at 11-12 weeks.  My dr said it was a small polyp and used some silver nitrate on it and I haven't had a problem since, but he did tell me to call whenever I had bleeding just to check.
