That's what I thought, but she was telling me she got the 6w disability (which we have in RI as well), plus some other leave up to 13w, THEN the NJ FMLA for ANOTHER 13w. I need that deal.

Unless they passed something in the last 2 months... They provide 6 weeks of pay, which is concurrent to your FMLA. If you get pay through STD, then NJ pays part, and your STD pays part, making up 100% of our salary for 6 weeks.
I'm a teacher- I had 8 weeks because of a c-section and 12 weeks of FMLA, but two weeks overlapped or something. I took off the remainder of the school year because my district will allow me to stay out and they will hold my position. I had STD which paid part of my salary, was able to use banked sick days for the first 8 weeks, and I was able to continue my insurance through the end of FMLA (I only get dental through my job- I'm on MH's insurance otherwise). I could theoretically take off next school year as well, but I need to go back to work!
