Help me pick an Ergo!

Alrighty.  I'm ready to take the Ergo plunge.

The Original, Performance, or Sport?

I'm 5'4'' and about 120 lbs.  I'll mostly be using the carrier around the house and at stores, but would like the option to use it while outside during the summer.  Is it really that, that hot that I wouldn't want to wear it outside?

I've been reading that the Sport and Performance may be a little big on me because of the straps etc. and I'm thinking that the original Ergo is the one that everyone knows, loves, and swears by so why go with a totally different carrier by the same company.

If you have experience with the different Ergos, fill me in!  I'm excited to get the ball rollin'!

    I would choose original.  I tried the others at a bw meeting and I preferred the original hands down. I have a camel colored original Ergo and I wore it hiking in the rain forest in Puerto Rico, so no, heat hasn't deterred me from wearing it.

    i only have the original [organic in navy- i love it] so i can't comment on the others but it gets really hot in oklahoma and on the couple of warm days we've had so far this year, i've worn my daughter in the ergo. as long as i don't wear warm clothes like long sleeves, i'm fine. i do get a little warmer than usual but i almost always have on a cardigan so in short sleeves or a tank top, i've never had an issue.

    i've also worn her in it on walks where i got kind of warm and it didn't seem to have anything to do with the ergo, just the fact that i'm out of shape!

    i just can't stress enough how simple the ergo makes it to take her anywhere, for any length of time. she just looks around and takes everything in and almost always ends up falling asleep in it. in fact, for the first couple of months she was alive, i had to wear her in it around the house to get her to fall asleep at night. i can't recommend the ergo enough, i think you will love yours!

    I don't have any experience with the Performance.  The Sport is made of a material that is a LOT thinner and more lightweight.  DS was so little that we weren't using the Ergo last summer, but I think that we will be trying to borrow my mom's Sport once summer hits here in GA.  The thing that I love about the original is that it has a small pocket on the front - I use it constantly and usually can get by without carrying a bag.  The Sport does not have a pocket.

    i have another original (cranberry) that belongs to a friend but is in my possession to sell for her. Lmk if you are interested. its only been used twice so its in great condition
