Recommend your mattress

Hey ladies:

Tim and I are in the market for a new mattress.  Of course I would love to have a Tempurpedic, but we are not willing to fork out the $3000 to get one.

So I am asking for you to recommend your mattress.  Does anyone know if there are any other options for a good quality memory foam mattress?

Thanks ladies :)

Beth

Re: Recommend your mattress

  • We have a firm simmons mattress that we got at Macy's. I can't remember how much it was, but it was considerably cheaper than what we found at mattress stores. My parents got a memory foam mattress from Ikea about a year ago and are very happy with it. I don't know how much it was, but I imagine it was cheaper than the Tempurpedic.

  • We have a Serta visco elastic mattress and absolutely love it.  We've had it since our first anniversary, so almost 7 years.  We decided to get it instead of a Tempurpedic.  I have back problems and it has been wonderful.  We looked around a lot and got it from Snuggy's in Florence down the road from the mall.

I also highly recommend memory foam pillows... we bought two by a company named Big Tree, we found them at Snuggy's also but I ordered them online direct from the company.  They were pricey, like close to $100 each, but they are incredible.  We don't leave home without them.

  • We ended up settling on a Sterns and Foster a few years back. Really wanted the tempurpedic, but didn't want to spend that much. I have no complaints, it's a lovely mattress.

  • I have a PedicSolutions from QVC, I wanted the 12 inch one but the 10 inch one was on special but it is awesome, just enough firmness that DH is happy.  We have 2 twin foam mattresses from Ikea for DS1's room that are pretty good too.  You might also want tocheck Trader Tuck's in Camden, they are haul your own but they are brand names like Serta and Sealy if memory serves me right.
