First Birthday Party Question..

What activities did or do you plan to do?? We don't have a lot of kids that will be there (2 babies (1 yr old and 10 mon), 2 yo, 4 yo and then 11 and teenaged .. ).  Mostly it will be extended family and a few close friends.  The only thing I have planned is to eat, open presents and have cake. 

Should I have some other type of activity planned?? I am hoping to have the play room cleaned out so the kids can play back there if they want, but other than that I have no clue what we should do! Any ideas would be appreciated!!

    I think if you have the playroom open that's plenty. I didn't plan any activities for Max's first, we had it at a barn that was at a park, and thankfully the weather was nice, so the kids ended up playing outside on the playground. But if it had been rainy we would have just been hanging out inside. I think your plan sounds great!

    I'm not planning on having any activities, but we are having a very small family and close friends party so it will just be DS, a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old.  His birthday is in August, though, so hopefully the weather will be nice and they can play in the backyard.

    We just pulled out every toy and set them up in the livingroom and his bedroom (and moved furniture a bit in the LR to make it more of a big open area with borders). The only special thing we did was fill his 4' baby pool with 100 plastic balls bought off Amazon. That went outside and was a HUGE hit. We kept it up for 2 months (inside) until we had to take it down for staging etc.

    For Cruz's 1st and 2nd birthday we just had kids come over and play with the toys.  At that age they aren't playing with each other yet so they just don't get the activites.  For Cruz's 3rd b-day they rode ponies and chased each other around.  I know some friends with little girls get away with doing activites but the boys are pretty rowdy!

    Nope, you shouldn't need any activities, just food, smashing cake, and opening presents!

    M's 1st birthday was at a park, so there was the beach/outdoors to preoccupy the older kids.  For the younger ones I put a big mat out on the grass for them to crawl/walk around on, I had a bunch of mini beach balls to bat around.  I think we had bubbles and a couple riding toys too if I remember right.

    Don't worry at all about J and N, Suz! We will pick up a transformer for him to play with and he'll be good! Norahs easy too! We didn't do anything special for Jakes 1st bday either :)
