Just started putting some stuff into the dresser we just finsihed putting together today and I have 5 snap crotch onsies and 3 l/s side snap shirts...do I need more!!!??
I also only have 6 burp clothes...should I get more?
We didn't use a whole lot of onesies, to be honest. For the first 3 months of DS's life, he wore the little sleep and plays, and we didn't use a onesie under those.
We used onesies under the little "outfits" for church and that is about all.
I would get some more burp cloths, though! And skip the skinny ones. Go with some old fashioned pre-folded cloth diapers. IF your LO is a spitter, they can soak one of those skinny little ones in seconds!
i think @ least on the burp clothes you are gonna want more. and actually on that note, for my daughter i bought cloth diapers and used them as burp rags, they seemed to last twice as long as a burp cloth, bc they are more absorbant, and thicker. but more onesies would probably be good, but id get some 0-3s. or you can kinda wait and see.
I don't have very many burp cloths, but I have tons of flannel recieving blankets which I plan to use as burp cloths.
Every mother I know says you can never have enough onesies.. so I would probably buy a few more. They are reasonably priced if you get them in the 4-6 packs on the hangers at sears/target. If you have a ton of sleepers with snap out crotches and nightgowns though, I wouldn't imagine you would need too many onesies in nb/0-3. From what I understand, they won't fit for very long and we'll probably have our LO's in the long pants sleepers while they're still small in these colder spring months.
This is my first time.. so I'm pretty much guessing at all of this lol. I'll be checking back to see what second time moms have to say!
I probably have too many onesies.. I got SO many clothes at my showers that the ladies took ALL tags off of.. not just ripped the price off.
I agree with PPs, pick up some of the cloth diapers to use as burp cloths. We had a ton of burp cloths, but don't even use those because the cloth diapers are so much better. I also wish I had more of the snap sleeper things. I am in NY where it is cold and although we don't take him out of the house except to go to the doctor, I have worried we wouldn't have enough of the sleeper things for him to wear if he gets them dirty.
I don't have that much more than you do. I figure if the time comes and I need more, I can send my mom or DH to buy more. I know that I need some to start off with, but I'm not sure how many I'll need either.
Thanks for the advice ladies on the cloth diapers as burp cloths.
I didn't use onsies until summer with DS. I hated putting things over his head when he was that little. He spent day and night in sleep n plays. I would get more burp cloths.

Jake was 5lbs 13oz when he was born, and 5lbs 11oz Monday at the doc's. I honestly thought I was going to have a monster of a baby. What a shock for us! Nothing fit our poor little man! Everything was way too big.
What do I absolutely love? The side snap t-shirts and Carter's NB knit pants. *LOVE* these! I can just slide those little pants off and not worry about unsnapping the crotch and what not. They're great!
I would probably get a few more onezies...maybe go to goodwill or once upon a child to get them pretty cheap. I would ado buy some cloth diapers to use as burp cloths...who knows how often you will be able to wash them!

I'd pick up a few more, but that's just me.
