When to take a pregnancy test when having cramps but no period

Hi, my husband and I have been TTC for 5 months now. I am usually pretty regular at 29 days. I started having cramps like I was going to start the day before my period was due. That was 4 days ago and still no period. Plus the past week, my breasts have been beyond sore and sensitive. I know these are signs of pregnancy, but how long should I wait before taking a HPT. I'm 3 days late......Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Some start testing as early as 10dpo, if you are three days late then take a test. Keep in mind if it is a BFN you may have O'd late.

Take one now! HPTs are generally very accurate, especially after your missed period-- so if it's a BFN then you may have just ovulated late.

If you think you're late and do not chart, go ahead a take a test! That's the only way to know for sure.

This! If you haven't been charting, you don't know if you are really "late" or if you just O'd late.

FWIW, I had cramping the week AF was due but got a BFP (my first, last year/ended in m/c).

So, cramping doesn't necessarily mean you are out---Go POAS!

Yes, those can be signs of pregnancy. However, they are also signs of upcoming AF. If you think you are pregnant take a test. If it is negative test once a week until AF shows.

Agreed. I ovulated late the first cycle I charted but didn't know that because I had nothing to compare it to. My period ended up being 4 days late. After two more cycle I can look back and see that I ovulated 4 days late, so it's not surprising that my period was late. I also had worse or new symptoms, but I think a lot of it was in my head (paying more attention because I was late). Test and see what happens. GL!
