Where did the inspiration for your names come from? Both my boy and girl names came from the same movie while our middle name choices are family names or versions of.
My DD's first name (Anna) came from my favorite book growing up, Anne of Green Gables. I wanted to name her Anne, but decided against it sadly. Her middle name my hubby chose from a song that apparently was at the beginning of one of his favorite games as well (lol)... good thing it's a classic!
This one... Isla came from a 1900 census that my hubby was combing over for inspiration. He came across Ila and wanted to use it. I felt that Isla was a little more mainstream now, so I talked him into that spelling. The mn we chose is one of the few that we've agreed upon immediately (we have similar taste, but this one we both had on our lists). If it's a boy, we chose Charles. We wanted a classic, strong English name to reflect hubby's ancestry. The mn is a family name... it came from the family tree and popped up around 1700 (the name is Xavier, after George Xavier P______). DH loves it, but the combo is apparently an X-Men thing?! lol I guess I'm OK with it. Hubby is unmoved in changing the mn. So... at least it's a cool combo... like naming your kid Superman, but being able to get away with it lmao! *sigh*
DH and I were watching Lord of the Rings (I think the second one) when I was pregnant with DS. We were watching the credits and Elijah Wood's name came up. I said I really like Elijah and DH agreed so that was that. With DD I always thought I would name a girl Samantha. I had never heard Evangeline until Evangeline Lilly and DH and I were Lost fans. DH liked Evangeline better than Samantha and I loved both so that's how we chose DD's name.

DS Elijah Xin 3/11/05
DD Evangeline Mei 8/24/06
Ian came from a former co-worker who I adore! When I was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labour one of our doctors was Ian and he was fantastic, it kind of just helped me make up my mind lol.
James was my Papa who passed away in 2003.

Desmond is from ObLaDi ObLaDa. (We can't decide if it would be too chez to name a future DD Molly). Lucas is from St. Luke, the patron saint of doctors in honor of my mom who delivered him.
My son's first name came from the Bible, his first middle name came from my favorite video game, and his second middle name was a family name. I love his name.
Camden is a variant of my maiden name and his MN (James) is DH's name. Grier was named after my best friend in high school who died in a car accident our senior year. Her MN (Elizabeth) is after my MIL. With Apollo, there really isn't any significance besides I loved the name and liked how it wasn't super 'out' there, but still unique. He failed his hearing test at birth and may be deaf, so I think it's cool that many name nerds think Apollo means strength. His MN (John) comes from the town DH and I met in.

DS1 is named after DH. DS2's first name is a name I've always loved and is also found in DH's family tree. Both of our boys have the same middle name which is a family name on DH's side that goes back 4 generations.
We named DD after Audrey Hepburn (she's my favorite!) Her middle name is Catherine after my MIL. For #2 we basically picked names that would grow well with him/her. Benjamin for a boy (Ben) and Abigail for a girl (Abby.) Middle names for this one are after family members on my side (Scott and Mae.)
DH and I were watching Private Practice one night and he mentioned he liked the name Maya for a girl (it's a character on the show). I looked it up and the meaning was interesting to me. I also love Maya Angelou's poetry. We picked her MN Joan after MIL. We were kicking around some other names but I lost our daughter about a week or so later. So, we stuck with the name that we had sort of agreed on.

We both had Scarlette on our lists (well before we conceived) and it's probably also due to the fact that we both love Scarlett Johansson. Her middle name is Betty after DF grandma (who he was extremely close to)
This bubba will have my name as a mn if it is a girl (Because it is a name you don't hear everyday and I want it to be passed on) and if it is a boy it's MN will most likely be Spencer (a tribute to my family last name) but if we can't decided on a FN I'm suggesting it.
Since my DH and I joke about being royalty- even our wedding vows included you may kiss your king, we chose Audrey (noble strength). Also, as a teacher other names we liked were immediately nixed by kid association. One of my dearest friends was named Audrey so i always wanted to use it. Lane is a family name (mine, my mother's, grandmother's and several cousin's mn)
My DH chose Regan since my due date was Halloween. He liked it so I got to chose the MN that I really wanted for the FN. Estelle is after my grandmothers named Esther and Nell.
Married my best friend on 5/14/05
Three Girls: Bits 2/08 Biscuit 10/09 & Sweet Chuck 2/12 One Favorite son: Suishy Smalls 6/14 And another Princess coming 7/16
Both girls were named after family members- DD1: Kathryn (maternal grandmother) Leigh (my younger sister and her godmother) Mariko (Japanese cousins). DD2: Eloise (Paternal grandmother) Ann (my twin sister and her god mother) Tomiko (DH's Grandmother).
I'm kind of screwed if we ever have another girl as we pretty much exhausted all the good female names in the family! LOL!
From my top 2 for each gender.... I first heard one of the girl names in a movie soon after I moved here, but it's also a name tied tightly to this region. My other one, in my mind, combines pastoralism, flamenco and Garc?a Lorca and I love the feel I get from it.
For boys, one has been on my list since I was 8 years old, it's from a book that was read to my class that year. And my 2nd boy choice, I got from a play I read in grade 10 French.
DDs name was inspired by a TV show I loved, one of the main characters. Her middle name is also my sisters middle name.
This time around, our boy name came from my husbands love for Cal Ripken Jr. So I found a name that could have the Cal nickname, Callan. Middle name will be my brother and dads first name.
Girls...I'm totally lost and still don't know what to do. Maybe on March 22nd we'll just find out its a boy.
DS is Liam Ralph. We didn't pick his name until right before the anatomy scan. I heard Liam one day (I think on A Baby Story) and I really liked it (especially because I'm part Irish). I mentioned it to DH and he liked it too. So, that's how we came up with his first name. It's the perfect name for him and I can't picture him with any other name. Ralph was my grandfather's first name (we were very close growing up) and my dad's middle name, so even though its typically NMS, we chose it because of the family significance.

We both liked the name Isaac. Since Isaac is the son of Our Last Name (A.......)
We chose Liam as his middle name because DH is a Jr and didn't want any part of his name to be in DS's name since DH doesn't like his name. So, I talked him into Liam which is 1/2 of DH's middle name. So, since DS is 1/2 DH's genetics. Haha.
If Isaac was a girl we would have named her Sarah... wife of (A........) see Bible.
Middle name Michelle after my aunt that's having on and off leukemia (sp?...sry). I also have a cousin with this MN and one cousin with this FN and another Aunt with this FN, but we call her Shelly.
Sophia is my godmother's name and Dh is greek so we want a name that was Greek. Believe it or not, we didn't know it was even a popular name. We didn't do much research. Plus it means wisdom which is nice.
Both DH and I have great grandmother's who's middle name was May. Also, DD was born in May.
The names we have it down to for this LO (this week anyway) are Mitchell trevor for a boy, Mitchell was just something we could agree on, and Trevor would've been my name if I was a boy. After my dad's best friend who passed away when he was 16.
And for a girl we're thinking Margaret (NN Maggie or Molly) Bronwyn. Margaret was my great grandmother's middle name and we were super close, and we just both like Bronwyn

My Daughter's name is Manna Cadence. Manna is a biblical name it means Gift from God and it is the miracle bread that fell from heaven to feed God's people in the desert. Cadence is in honor of her Daddy who is a Former Marine and served 2 tours in Afghanistan

Long story short on the first name, this place (Ireland):
Middle name: both our mother's first names.
Jackson Henry. Jackson was just a name DF suggested and that was the one that stuck. Henry is DF's grandpa that passed away.
My first daughter is a name we fell in love with in 1999 and in 2005 still loved when she was born. Her middle name is my mom's first name.
This baby's first name is just a name we love. Middle name is after my husband's late grandfather who was like a father to him.
Ian came from a former co-worker who I adore! When I was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labour one of our doctors was Ian and he was fantastic, it kind of just helped me make up my mind lol.
James was my Papa who passed away in 2003.
DD! is named after T.V. shows from Sex and the city and MN from Cheerleader Nation. DD#2 After "Sweet Caroline" and MN from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
