Does anyone have any experience with this?
I made mention of all the sinus and ear infections Charlotte has had as of late, and someone mentioned to me that her daughter had constant sinus and ear infections at the same age that lead them to finding out about her gluten intolerance.
Now, I know it could just be typical sinus and ear problems, but Charlotte also has other symptoms that alone wouldn't mean much but as a whole I'm starting to connect the dots and thinking the person who mentioned this might be on to something. She constantly has watery eyes and dark circles underneath, like someone would when they have a bad allergy attack. She has eczema, a persistent rash on her bottom that I've tried everything to clear up and has bouts of breaking out in hives. She also has trouble digesting milk. These problems all started when she started solids.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has problems with gluten and what your symptoms were?
Re: Gluten intolerance?
DH has Celiacs and there is a local Cincinnati Celiacs group https://www.cinciceliac.com/ too but the symptons can range widely from person to person. For him Gluten causes his small intestine villi to not work and lay flat, as a result everything goes right through him within 20 mins of eating a meal. When we were dating he hadn't been diagnosed it was a nightmare because as soon as we finished a meal it was a mad dash to get home before the cramping started. In fact he thought I was odd for only going once a day whereas he had to go every time he ate and particularly when he had eaten something like bread or high gluten meals.
Henry isn't allowed any glutens because there is a high probability he inherited the gene and he is highly intolerant of dairy, not just lactose but the dairy protein itself. For Henry we won't test until later we will just avoid it and the same will go for Serena. A lot of times Celiacs doesn't manifest itself until late teens onwards.
