Placenta Previa

hi ladies!

I've been going every 4 weeks for ultrasounds... my placenta previa is still here. No sex, no exercise, no lifting... no fun! ;) haha.

I do love seeing the peanut every 4 weeks. She's doing awesome - up to 1 pound, 8 ounces! A chunky monkey for sure :)

They said if it's still here by 36 weeks, I'll have a scheduled C-Section.. I guess it could be worse, and at least I'll have a chance to shower/shave pre-baby, haha!

Anyone else in the same position?

    My placenta previa was found at my 20 week anatomy scan.  She put me on pelvic rest for 8 weeks so I find out at my 28 week ultrasound if the placenta has moved.  I'm hoping it has because the only thing I do NOT want is a c-section.  If it happens, it happens and I have no control over that but I'm hoping otherwise.  Did she mention if she would schedule your c-section at 40 weeks then?

    I found out about my placenta previa at 18 weeks and I have to wait until 28 for my next ultrasound.  I try not to think about it because chances are it will move off my cervix.  I've had several friends with the same diagnosis early on and none of them ended up needing a c-section.

    I'm a little nervous because one of my good friends had marginal placenta previa, ended up going into PTL, delivered almost a month early and an emergency c-section was required.  Hoping for positive results at 28 weeks!  (and i want to be able to have sex again.  8 weeks is WAY TOO LONG to go without)

    totally feel your pain ladies - no sex is REAAAAAAALLY hard!!!

    Mine was found at 19 weeks. They also found a chroid plexus cyst so I went a week later for a level 2 ultrasound. The cyst was gone (woo!) but the previa was still there.

    I am now going every 4 weeks to monitor it. They said I can go until about 36 weeks before they schedule a c-section.

    SO.. I have my next on March 23rd (I'll be 28 weeks). Hope none of us have to deal with this anymore! :)

    I go back on March 30th for my 8 week follow up. I *think* my doc will let me schedule a c-section at 38 weeks if it doesn't move up. Here is my reasoning (not sure if it is true though). Depending on how low your placenta is, the docs don't want you to go into labor and have an emergency c-section. Therefore they will most likely schedule you after 37 weeks (full term) but before 40 to try and keep you from going into labor on your own. At least that is what my doc hinted at.. Does that make sense?

    hi ladies, 

    i just found out that i had placenta previa. the doctor told me its nothing to worry about right now since the placenta could still move. but still im a lil worried of what happens if it doesn't move.
