TTC and orgasim

Is it okay to have an orgasim while TTC? I have read that it creates an acidic environment which is not sperm friendly. Has anyone else heard this?

    I've read that it's beneficial. It helps the sperm move upwards, creates more cervical fluid.

    I've heard the opposite. I've read (in many places) that the female orgasm "pulls" the sperm in because of the contractions. I'm not sure of all the science that goes along with it. Maybe others have a better explanation. Hope this helps

    I'm looking back at the book and what I read was that there is a theory for TTC a girl which says that orgaism created a more acidic environment which increases likelihood for "boy sperm" to live (or something like that)

    Some dude called Landrum Shettles seems to think otherwise 'Shettles Method' 

    An alkaline environment within the vagina is encouraged whenever a woman has an orgasm. Therefore, according to the Shettles Method, female orgasms create an environment that is more conducive to conceiving a boy because there is less vaginal acidity.

    So orgasm for girl and no orgasm for boy - ha!

    Hmm, and here I thought I paid decent attention in biology and human anatomy when I was taught that the sperm (read: the man) determined the sex of the baby.  A few days ago a study was posted that said the number of calories you eat impacts if it is a boy or a girl.

    Don't ya just LOVE science.  You can find a study to back up any theory. 

    ETA: Orgasm, calorie, and position rumors be damned, it looks like science and genetics trumps all!

    I always heard that it helps with conception since it causes the cervix to suck in more sperm (or something to that effect)

    I never heard any correlations between orgasms and gender. Interesting....

    Well I have two boys and always have an orgasm, so I can't figure out if that validates or invalidates the pp findings. Oh well..who knows.
