October 2011 Moms

StephRuns get in here!

I read your FFFC post and I just wanted to give you a big 'ol hug and say that it's all gonna even out. Really. The owner of my gym is a mom and someone that admire on many levels. I was complaining about the bloat around the 6 week marker and first told me to "give it up sister! it's only gonna get worse!" while she was laughing, but then she sat down and gave me a great little chat.

She said that you're body is going to do what it's going to do and that that's okay. For her, she said she developed the oddest little fat roll right around her waistline really early and that is just freaked her out. Mostly she stressed to me that gaining weight while pregnant is different than normal weight gain. To try and just let it be and enjoy the ride. Sure, she has been very encouraging on keeping up my workouts and staying healthy, but she has also been adamant not to try to fight my body and what it wants to do. I really appreciated her sentiments, especially coming from someone who is very physically fit and values a healthy lifestyle.

I hope this helps and that I'm not overstepping my bounds. I just want you to know that you're not alone in how you feel. Btw, my 5lb gain says to tell your 6lb gain hello! ;)

  • Awe, thank you for the positive words!! You did not overstep any bounds with me. Smile I just had a rough week (was sick, unable to workout, tired, etc) and then seeing that this morning was the icing on the cake. I feel much better now that I've let it out, and went for a run after my post. I'm slowly trying to learn to let it go and not to worry about it so much. I'm sure next week will be a better week. Yes
  • Okay, good. I'm glad you're feeling better. :) Here's to a better week next week!

  • Thank you for this!  I am in the gym at least 5 days a week and most times twice a day.  I am so freaked out by my expanding muffin top!?!?  I am only 8 weeks.  This post made me feel better. Thank you again.
