Super achy hips/back- significant?

Starting mid-morning, my lower back and hips have been super achy. I do notice that the shape of my belly has changed over the last two days and the baby is lower, but I wouldn't say that he has dropped yet. Is it just LO's new position that is causing all of this sudden discomfort? I went for a walk at lunch and another one just now with DH to loosen things up, but I'm still so stiff.

Dr. Google provided me with this:

One of the most obvious signs of labor is known as pelvic pressure. This condition occurs after dropping and often gives mothers discomfort. This occurs because you baby is giving extra pressure on your bladder and bowel. Pelvic pressure can cause swelling of legs, sharp twinges, aching pubic bones and backaches.

Do you think there's anything significant to this sudden discomfort or is it just the beginning of the end and everything is going to start hurting at this point?

Re: Super achy hips/back- significant?

  • I have been having the same thing... I don't know what it means, but it doesn't seem intense enough to me to be anything significant unfortunately!  But I'm hoping with every discomfort and twing that its something!!!!!!

  • I've had a ton more pelvic pressure/pain this week.  Feels like I'm going to rip in two sometimes!  Doc didn't respond much at all when I mentioned this either.  I'm guessing it's probably just the beginning of the end of pregnancy!  Things are getting in place, but man it's so darn uncomfortable.
