We talk about this alot! We know for sure if we have a boy it will be Liam Thomas, and for a girl it is not so cut and dry! We like Tessa Layne, Bryn Olivia, Elsie Jane (Elsie is DH's grandma's name), and that is just to name a few! If we have a girl first, we will have our work cut out for us!

We have some options for girls names in mind but nothing set in stone. For some reason we can agree on any boy's names at all.
prplscrubs-I love the name Layla, I cant get DH to agree.
we watch "the event" and the girl is named Layla. I asked him if he liked it and he said yes, but I don't know for sure if he will go for it for a DD name. we shall see. Hoping he does because I really like it

If it's a girl, her name will be Caroline Mary Ann - Mary Ann is my husband's mother's name who passed away when he was 10, so it was important that we use her name for our first born girl.
As for a boy, we have a few first names we are still batting around such as: Landon, Griffin, Emmett, or Ingram but we know the middle names will be Richard Raymond. For the middle names, we are using my dad's first name and his father's first name. It also happens to be my DH middle name too.
we talk about names a lot. we are having a really hard time agreeing on boy names. we have a few girl names we've agreed on so far, but we can settle on any boy names that we like for more than a day or so. is it crazy that i own a baby name book and i'm not KU yet? cause i totally bought one at Barnes and Noble back in January...
Girl: Makenna Elisabeth or Carrigan Elisabeth (Makenna after our names Michaela and Ken, plus my dad's name is Michael, and Carrigan sort of after DH's mom Caroline but I thought of that after the fact. Elisabeth is also several people's middle names but DH likes it with an /s/.)
Boy: Robert Edgar or Eddison Robert (my grandfather's names are Edgar and Robert)

I am relatively certain that phantom baby will end up nameless for the first year bc DH and I can't agree on any names. He really wants William James for a boy - his gpa & dads names - which I like, but I don't really like any of the nn's for WilliamHe also has a running joke about the name Magnus. At least I hope its a joke.I love Cale, Noah, Alex, and Michael...but DH is Michael and I don't want to run the risk of him being called Jr.For girls...I have loved the name Alaina forever. And I have to fit Patricia in there somewhere (my mom who passed when I was 16).DH has his heart set on a son, so he won't talk about girls names much, but I did get the name Natasha out of him once. Meh.

We have a boy name for sure, Warren Ellis. Warren is from DH's dad, he passed away 3 years ago. Ellis is from my pappy.
We are less certain about girl names. I like Mary, he likes Madison. We both like Claire as a middle name with either of those. But we haven't settled on anything just yet because DH has a huge family that is full of pregnant women (5 babies last year, 7 coming this year) makes it difficult finding names that haven't been used yet. Just this year there was name war in his family, one cousin had her name picked out and then another cousin announced she was naming her baby the exact same thing. It was terrible, so we aren't telling any family our names.
We agree with a girl name: Eliana Ava (not sure how I want to spell the first name though...Ellianna or Elliana) Ellie would be a nickname
For the boy...I want Aidan and he wants Jeven which I'm not keen on. However we might compromise and do Aidan Jeven...although I don't think they sound good. It's an ongoing arguement that I don't think I'll win!
We are definite on boy names - Max Dawson (DH's grandfathers name, and my paternal grandmothers maiden name) and Marshall James (my maiden name, my father's name)
We aren't quite so certain on girls, but here is ones we like - Willa Irene (DH's grandmother's name), Mathilda Ann (my grandmothers name), Leah (just one we like). I like girls names that end in a short "a" sound if you can't tell

We have names we throw around that we both agree on so the final decision will have to be after we meet the baby.
Boy: Weston "Wes"; Jasen, Titan "Ty" and Middle names would either be Michael, Matthew or DH likes Briggs (not sure why but he does).
Girls: Ariana "Ari", Serena and DH likes Sophia and I like Isabella...Middle name would be Marie.

We're planning on taking the first and middle initials from my nana and papa (Lillian and Ben). This is assuming no one else passes before we have a baby.
Currently I am loving the name Beatrice for a girl. Not sure my DH is on board with that one but we'll see. I really like/appreciate the older names these days. I also like Mia.
As for boy names, we like Brooks, Mason and Maddox. I've also loved the name Liam for quite some time now but it has gotten super popular so I'm not sure about it anymore. DH father's (who passed away 10 yrs ago) name was William so it would definitely be a tribute to him.
But who knows what will happen when the time comes!
Wow!! Its interesting to see other couples creativity and blending in family meanings
We know IF it is a boy (and that is a BIG if... I have 3 girls) we will go with the first name John.. family tradition. We like Alexander as the middle name for a boy. And we will call him Alex.
For a girl we are going to go with Elizabeth as the middle name. DH's mom always wanted a little girl and had Elizabeth picked out when she was pregnant with all three of her kids... only she had 3 boys. So in honor of her we have Elizabeth picked out. We also like Megan and Taylor.
Not too sure how a Megan will go with my 7 year old's name: Maggie
"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength."
Yep! For a girl- Hannah Avery For a boy- Ethan...not sure about a middle name.. DH thinks it's funny to suggest Allen.. not so much..lol
Hannah is one of my very favorite girls' names. DH vetoed because he knows a dog named Hannah, sad! We've tossed around ideas but mostly he just kids and throws out heinous names that he insists he likes. I know when the times comes that we'll really enjoy the process of deciding together.
Yes, I have had names picked out since I was a little girl. I think I had the names before I dreamed about my wedding. I love the girl name of Emma however we the DD of a couple in our wheeling group and their DD name is Emma. Needless to say after meeting her and the parents I lost all love for the name Emma. *tears* For a boy I love the name Wyatt. Well my soon to be DH has a DS with the name of Wyatt. So I have my Wyatt now! We have talked about the names of Landon or Holden for a boy. I want the middle name of Danger for a boy or Trouble for a girl as it is a family tradition. However soon to be DH said no way! We will see.

I have had our boy's name picked out since we got married, ha. It's just our grandfathers' names (William Paul.) We go back and forth on girl names. He tends to not like mine, I dont like his. We'll see who ends up "winning" ha.
Re: Do you have names picked out?
I do
But DH and I haven't talked about it. He doesn't want to talk about much until I get KU. not sure why but whatever
Layla fill in middle name here?
Ryan Michael

Yep, we have a little list of names we like, some more than others.
Boy: Kane, Kai, Tye, Trey
Girl: Kali and Kassi. We both have a hard time agreeing to girls names we like.
I'm sure stuff will change and all that. But these are our faves at the moment.

For the boy we are doing either Kaleb William or Kaleb Eric and for a girl the middle name will be Marie.

boy ideas: Lucas Benjamin, Benjamin Landon
girl ideas: Brielle Lyndsey, Brynn Lyndsey, Lydia Brielle, Lily Brynn
DH knows the initals but not the names. My mom picked out my name and my sister's name, so hopefully I'll have more pull hehe
Currently I am loving the name Beatrice for a girl. Not sure my DH is on board with that one but we'll see. I really like/appreciate the older names these days. I also like Mia.

Hannah is one of my very favorite girls' names. DH vetoed because he knows a dog named Hannah, sad! We've tossed around ideas but mostly he just kids and throws out heinous names that he insists he likes. I know when the times comes that we'll really enjoy the process of deciding together.
I have names picked out (emphasis on the "I"). I talk about them with DH sometimes and he gets really weird. He thinks it jinxes us.
