So here's my strange post for the millenia!
Cora is allergic to everything.
By everything, I mean wheat, rice, oats, eggs, milk, peanuts and
almonds. Before we figured this all out, I had been pumping breast milk
and storing it in the hopes that I could stop nursing at around 6 mos. I
have close to 200 oz stored. All of this milk is unusable because it
was before we figured out all of what she's allergic to. I looked into
donating, but minimum donation is 200oz, no exceptions. I fall just a
bit short. Sure, I could pump some more to try and donate, but anything I
pump now is reserved for me leaving the house without a 14lb drooling
tumor. ![]()
Additionally, donating has very strict qualifications that make it almost impossible to donate unless you had prior knowledge. Example being, I have to be caffeine free. While, I'm pretty sure I didn't have caffeine prior to the majority of my pumping sessions, it's not something I can say with any certainty since my intention wasn't for donation.
I'm posting here to see if there might be anyone interested. I have a
letter from my doctor stating I'm healthy and disease free. No rabies or
any other illnesses. If I don't do something soon I'm going to have to
throw it out and that seems so wasteful when another weak or sick baby could benefit from it.
And before you suggest
selling it, the only sites I found seemed to dabble in fetish type
stuff.
And that's just going to be a NO!
I would like to stay relatively local (Charlotte area) as shipping it is VERY expensive. I'd be willing to ship, but it's going to be at the receiver's expense.
Sooooooooo...yeah...That's weird and all. But there ya go!
Re: Breastmilk
First, I just received your package and Oh my God, you are awesome! Holy coupons! Those will feed my kids for 8 days. So thank you, thank you, thank you.
Second, it's great that you are willing to give away your breast milk. Hopefully someone who needs it will take you up on that offer. It would suck if you have to just dump it when a baby could benefit from it.

You are so welcome! So glad you got it already! I hope none of the checks have expired. I didn't check them all. I'd been hanging on to them hoping I could use them, but we're not going to be able to. I knew you could definitely use them. If I get any more I'll send them your way. I don't like to waste stuff like that when it's so expensive!
Thanks!
I don't have any answers for you or really know of anywhere else to look, but just wanted to say that it's awesome you want to donate and have been trying to help out another baby.
Oh, and I'm sorry Cora has so many allergies!
That'd be great!
I just emailed her. If she's interested, I'll send an email to both of you to introduce you so y'all can figure out the details. Does that work for you?
ETA: Duh, Thanks so much for offering your milk to another mom who needs it. My friend has been really struggling to get her supply up and she's been asking for all the donor milk she can get.

Perfect, thanks! Also, if your friend isn't interested in coming all the way to Charlotte, have her check out this site: https://www.facebook.com/HM4HBNC
Thanks! and Congratulations.
I may openly weep when I finally do part with it, but having it sit knowing I won't/can't use it seems silly.
Dude. Seriously. When I read how much Jenny was producing I was blown away. Her boobs were made to feed those trips.
Oh, and besides the coupons, thanks a ton for the can and bottle! It definitely helps a ton.

Speed & ECU
Speed, my mom is literally 10 min from you every Thur babysitting my nephew & she visits us a lot. So that is one possible way that any milk needing to come to the Raleigh area could be delivered.
Hey there, it looks like ECU's friend is going to take it. I know that if you participate in The Mommy Network (Charlottemommies.com or Triadmommies.com, etc) there is a forum for attachment parenting/natural living. Evidently, it's quite common for moms to trade milk there. I'm sorry I couldn't help you too! But!! If we find she's allergic to something else and I have to start my milk-stash all over again, you'll be the first person I call!
