looks like a tie when I voted...but then again, it depends on what she really wants with my assumption of a nickname she'd have Emmy or Emma...that was what DH and I discussed while picking spellings too...

I agree. NMS either. Sounds very country. However, the first one doesn't even spell the name (without the "e" at the end, you get a lynn sound, not line). I picked Emmaline because it was the most phonetically correct, IMO. Emmeline technically works, but I'd be afraid you'd get a lot of Em-ee-lines.
GL! At least you can always call her Emma for short and forget the line is even there.
ETA: It might help if you clarify the pronunciation. I'm not sure if I got it right either. I thought it was supposed to be Emma-line, whereas it looks like PP wasn't sure if it was Emma-lyn or emma-leen.
You have posted what looks to be the phonetic attempt at the German and French Emmeline. It's pronounced Em uh lien, but ive heard Emmeline Pankhurst (famous British suffragette) was Em uh leen. Mist people in the States will say Em uh lien though, so it really comes down to how she wants to pronounce it. I do advise against just sounding it out though.
I would pronounce Emmaline the way it's spelled; Emma Line...I might second guess Emmeline as Emmy Line. I don't care for the first spelling at all. Why not just Emma Lynn? That makes the most sense, imo:)

Ditto. Plus I can't tell whether it's emma-lin, emma-leen...

So this is why as a woman named Caroline I am constantly referred to as Carolyn. People do think that "-line" = "-lyn"
