How Often Do You Girls Exercise?

I'm getting the feeling that I'm not exercising enough and I'm feeling a tad guilty. Realistically, I only do actual exercise 1-2 times per week which consists of light aerobics/stretching for 15 min before and after 30 minutes of brisk walking on the treadmill. I wish I actually did this everyday, but I simply don't feel like it. Like right now, I could be exercising, but blah....Anyone else feeling guilty about this? How often do you guys exercise? Thanks for the input, ladies. ;)

Re: How Often Do You Girls Exercise?

  • Ideally every day but working full-time and raising a busy toddler gets in the way along with backache, etc.  If I get home early enough and can start dinner soon enough I do it even if I am really tired.  I basically do the same exercise as you.  This week so far I have gotten in two workouts so far.

Kudos to you for getting a couple sessions in a week!!!

  • I try to walk every day for 45 minutes.  I typically only walk 5 days a week.
  • I shoot for 4 days a week. But I'm happy if I get more, but don't really sweat it with less either. I've actually signed up for yoga classes in my area which have been AMAZING, and it is by far my favorite mode of exercise, plus it's nice to have time with ladies I can commiserate with.

  • I've been doing cardio 4-5 days a week.  But I did this pre-pregnancy too so I just tried to keep up the same frequency as before.  My workouts are just less rigorous now.

This is similar for me too.  I do 3-4 days a week which I did pre-pregnancy.  I do mostly the elliptical machine, with sometimes the bike or walking on a tredmill mixed in.

  • I try to do 3 or 4 times a week; either taking the dog for a walk, yoga at home, or going to the gym and getting on the elliptical.

  • Ugh I wish it were more often.

The weather has not been very cooperative here and I don't feel like using my treadmill much. I got out twice this week for about 20 minutes for a walk. However, that's about my max right now due to some pelvic pain. I miss my 3 mile walk/jogs that I usually take 4x a week. Hasn't been happening since last fall.

  • 3-4 days a week in the gym doing light cardio plus walking the dog for about 30 minutes a day. I didn't work out as much during 1st tri b/c i was afraid, but now I'm back in my routine.
  • I run every day for about 8 miles and also do abs and weights a few times a week.

  • yogalates twice a week and then water aerobics once a week and I walk when I can...I used to work out a lot more but pregnancy is tiring enough on its own!!

  • Thanks guys! You all have given me a little extra motivation! :)
  • 3-5 / week depending on the level of craziness that week.  35-45 min light cardio + 15 min weights

  • well before pregnancy i was an avid gym go-er. i was there 4-6 days a week for 2 hrs. and i have been sick 100% of the way through, and I am now at 15 wks along. I feel sick, and disgusting and constantly wanting to loathe. i am working my way up to 3 times a week... hopefully more since i stopped babysitting, and daughter is at school, so i'll just have to worry about my son in the child care while im there.
  • Zilch. I try to get out and walk, but it's more to just get out of the house than for real exercise. I like to go walk around my neighborhood or a park, but don't really go fast enough to break a sweat. Kudos to everyone who does it regularly!

  • I exercise atleast 4-5 times per week. I usually do a combat class (similiar to kickboxing) about twice a week and then I do weightlifting mixed with cardio the other few days. Listen to your body and do what you can :o)

  • I exercise ~5-6 days per week still.  Cardio every day(elliptical, treadmill, stairmachine) and weights 2x/wk.  I keep telling myself it will help with labor, I'll recover more quickly and my baby will be healthier for it.  Good luck, I know it is hard to get into a good schedule/routine!

  • Generally 2x week at the gym, and neighborhood walks a few other times each week, weather permitting, which has been lately
Last pregnancy I did not do the gym

  • These days? Never. But I have a really busy toddler to chase after every single day and a business to take care of at the same time. When I was pregnant with DS I went to the gym at least 3 times a week. I was in killer shape. I am in good shape now too... as I said, chasing after a toddler is plenty of work. DS is the devil himself so I'm always on the move.

  • 4-6 times a week.

It's ramping down in intensity now, but I still aim for at least 1 round of weights, 1 swim, and 1 yoga class per week. The other workouts are just walking outside or light cardio at the gym.

I really do think it's helped my mental state, weight gain, general mobility, and energy.

  • I do spin class 3x/week, pilates 1x/week and weight lifting 1x/week.  I also walk to/from work (~4 miles) a few times a week.

It's starting to get really hard. :(
