Re: Friday Night TMI Poll

  • I'm curious, too.  It was 5 months for us the first time, too.

  • Sooner.  But not by a lot.

  • Sooner. I had a much easier and quicker recovery the second time around.  I knew to keep ice in my pants for a long time and changed it often while I was at the hospital the second time around- I was obsessive about it!!  :)

  • MUCH sooner...like probably after the 6 week checkup.  Compared to 4 months the first time.  I think you just heal better and feel more normal quicker the second time (barring complications of course).  Knowing what to expect to feel like helps too!

  • Hmm, for the first time I think it was sooner The second time but by like a week. Has a lot to do with having very minimal tearing this time (thank you med-free birth) vs. second degree last time. But, the first time I had a 9 month break from it too (deployment, not another child). (edited because it made no sense the first time)
  • Yea, let's just say super fast birthing is not easy and requires stitching (in my case).  BLAH

Yeah, I'm glad mine was fast but not THAT fast. I think you fall into the precipitous birth category, no?
  • I had first degree tears both times and the second time it healed SO much faster/better!

    And now you know. :)
  • Interesting question.  I think it was 8-10 weeks the first time and I can't really imagine too much sooner then that so we'll see.

  • Do I have the only husband that hounded them to "give it up"'as soon as possible? I swear it was the very night of my 6 week followup appointment this time. Of course, the poor guy got next to nothing the entire pregnancy, was deployed the year prior to conception and deployed just 8 weeks after DS was born so I guess I can't blame him too much. He did go nearly 2.5 years without getting' much of anything.
  • My husband is like Army's, I guess... I'm pretty sure we'd had sex before the 6 week check-up.  My husband really prefers not to go a week... to him, that is an eternity.

My recovery after Quinn was much better than w/ my dd (even though he was bigger by a pound and a half).  We'll see about this time.
