New to The Bump

New and Scared!

I just found out on Monday that I am pregnant and every little thing is terrifying to me! I had a tiny bit of light pink spotting Tuesday after a transvaginal ultrasound (where they saw nothing but a thickened uterus) but the doctor says it is normal (both the spotting and not seeing anything because it is just too darn early!). Every cramp or if I don't feel nauseated makes me terrified that something is wrong. I had my HCG levels tested Monday and Thursday and they went from 24.4 to 97. something and everything seems to be on track, just super early... SOO how do you do it!? How do you keep sane when you are so scared something will go wrong?!

  • Take a deep breath, and realize that there's only so much you can do at this point. Your numbers are rising appropriately, and everything you're dealing with is normal. If anything happens, it happens. Your dr is taking good care of you, and you'll more than likely be just fine.

    GL and congrats.

Totally agree. And, if it makes you feel any better, I got horrible cramping for a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. (And a couple of weeks before that.) All that is early on is just your uterus stretching out. And, i never got nauseous during my first tri either. Some of us are just lucky like that Wink. And, although I never had any yet, spotting, especially early on, is very normal. Usually, it fades. But, if it doesn't, don't worry about it if your doctor doesn't.
