Anywhere from 25-28 oz of formula, that's about four or five bottles a day. Plus solids, yougurt for breakfast, lunch (fruit), and dinner (fruit and veggie).
She nurses 4-5 times a day, when I'm at work she takes 4-5 oz bottles so I assume that's about what she gets from nursing. 5 is the most we've ever got her to take, she's usually happy with 4. From what I've heard from others most BF babies don't take more than 6 oz a feeding ever and it's not uncommon for it to be lower than that. Since the milk composition changes as they get older the amount of oz generally doesn't.
Wakes about 7 or so... 2 tbs (approx) cereal with about 1 oz formula mixed in along with a 5 oz bottle (well I make a 6 oz but 1 oz goes to formula)
About 10 am 6 oz bottle
About 1 pm she gets a jar (she can eat a full stage one food but only about 3/4 of stage 2 food) of vegs and fruit. Plus a 4 oz bottle (depends how much solids) she could eat the whole bottle or just 3 oz of it
About 3 She gets a 6 oz bottle
About 6 she gets another 6 oz bottle
and depends on when she goes to bed another 6 or 4 oz bottle
I am looking soon to do a dinner with her. So this weekend we are going to try Chicken
I"m going to have to throw out the "every baby is different" card after reading the responses. My son drinks a MAX of 4 6ounce bottles a day (and that fourth one is only if he wakes up over night). So he's drinking far less than what the other moms have said. Obviously better to send too much than too little, as much as you don't want to waste it.
Does your baby drink from a bottle? Just wondering since you said you aren't sure how much milk to send. Has baby ever drank from one? If so, you may have a serious problem.
Thanks ladies! I appreciate your sharing so I can have a better grip on what I should send.
