What kind of bottles did you use after coming home from the NICU? I am breastfeeding and following up with a bottle of pumped milk, as instructed by the NICU, to ensure my little ones are full. The bottles I am using now seem like they have a bigger nipple and my one DD that is home now doesn't seem to take them as well as she did the cheap disposable ones in the NICU. Thanks!
Re: bottles at home after NICU
We used the little gerber nurser ones. I really had to modify the nipple we used when we brought DS home and ended up going back to the hospital and BEGGING for some nipples to help me transition him over. (they gave them to me!)
Good luck!
My Blog
ditto - highly recommend Dr. Browns!!
Natural MC - 4/18/10 (9 weeks)
DS was born six weeks early on December 2010!
Natural MC - 11/21/11 (7 weeks)
DS born full term on October 2012!
We used Gerber nipples and they attached to the nurssettes from the nicu. They are very similar to the disposable nipples from the hospital. They come in like a 3 or 9 pack from target, and are SUPER cheap!
Once we got a little bigger, and better at feeding, She went on to MAM bottles.
Thing 2 = May 2009, Stillborn 33weeks 4lbs 9oz 18in
Thing 3 = October 2010, 27weeks 4days 2lbs 4oz 14.25in
This is what we used and still use, only now we use a number 1 nipple.
We use Dr. Browns. They are most like the nipples she got in the NICU and they are the only bottle she'll take.
I don't know what nipples they used in the NICU but you can buy some of them online (see here)
