Hi moms-to-be! Congrats and I hope you're feeling well. I'm debating whether I should register at BabiesRUs like everyone else or if I should try Target. Any advice? Thanks!
We did BRU and Amazon.com, mostly BRU but somethings were so much less expensive on Amazon it just made sense to do them there.
My advice is to check out the things you are interested in at both places and see where the prices are better. If there is a majority at one place I would go there. If it is split maybe do both.
I did BRU only. There weren't a lot of products/brands at target that I was interested in, and the return policy is awful. You could always register at both places if you are concerned about pricing.
I registered at Target only on the recommendation of a mom friend and I am SO glad I did. I got almost every single item on my registry because Target is convenient for everyone, and BRU is less so.
I am registering on BabyEarth and Diapers.com. Diapers.com has an amazing registry program (for every 500.00 spent, they put 50.00 in an account you can use for anything - I think.. I haven't read the fine print..) but both places offer free shipping for anything (except furniture) over $49.00. I started playing around with a BRU registry a few weeks ago and everytime I went on half of my stuff was not available at all, or not available on line, etc. And I heard horror stories about their return policy. If you don't have the receipt, I hear they give you a hard time.
I am cloth diapering and both BabyEarth and Diapers.com have them so it is just easier for me. And people are so used to shopping online so I am not too worried about it being a hassle (especially with free shipping). Baby Earth has unique toys, if you want something other than fisher price plastic.
First time mom here, due in 2 weeks - I just wanted to share that I have had a wonderful experience with my registry at Diapers.com - they have a great selection of items, competitive prices (some things were cheapest here, especially diapers), free 1-2 day shipping on all registry items (everything has been delivered without delay), free returns, $50 credit for every $500 purchased from the registry (I already used my first $50!), 10% off coupon for registry completion after your due date and EXCELLENT customer service. I've had to call a few times to check on items or schedule returns and I've always talked to the nicest customer service representatives I've ever dealt with. Sometimes your call is picked up directly by a representative, you don't even go through an automated system - you don't see that anymore these days!! I just have to say that I have been very impressed with them and highly recommend new moms to register there. The only minor draw back I found was that items would go in and out of stock, but I can't say this is an exclusive flaw of Diapers.com because I encountered the same issue with my Target registry and even with some items I was keeping my eye on through Amazon. I guess when an item is popular it just flies off the "shelf"!

I did BRU but I recommend doing target and walmart, you will safe money and have more choices. BRU is too expensive.
