I was diagnosed with mild preeclampsia AND gestational diabetes this weekend...at 35 weeks (I'm now officially 36). Just looking for anyone else with this, haven't seen anyone post on the board about this.
I was diagnosed with GD and have not been offically diagnosed with Pre-E but I am pretty sure if I go in and my blood pressure is above 140/90 tomorrow then they will induce me. I took a 24 urine test and failed it but they day they got my results my blood pressure was fine.
I had pre-e during my first pregnancy. BP started creeping up around 28 weeks and continued to rise until I delivered at 37 1/2 weeks (no induction/c-sections necessary...baby came on her own). I was taken out of work and put on bed rest at 36 weeks but that was it.
I followed doctor's orders and I had a very healthy little girl.

I am on bedrest. You didn't do this to yourself. already having GD put you at a higher risk of developing Pre-E as well. I felt bad about it too though so I know how you feel. My sister and sister in law just had babies as well and their pregnancy went perfect and they were VERY careful about what they ate, drank etc. My SIL only drank water her entire pregnancy. I was more relaxed and would have diet coke and my FIL would give me a bad look. I felt like they all think this is because I wasn't as careful as my SIL but I talked about it with my husband and came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter what they think.
How literal were you with bedrest? I go out for drs visits and that's it...but did you do any light chores, like laundry?
I was told I could walk for about 1/2 hour a day but couldn't clean, do laundry, etc. I literally sat with my feet propped on pillows for a week (one appointment to the next) and my BP still went up during that week and the swelling was ridiculous.

I try to stay off my feet as much as possible but I do some housework. If I get up to go to the bathroom then I will also clean a few things up. I spend most of my day with my feet up though. Don't google Pre-E though. YOu will get a lot of stories that will scare you. I was really scared at first because I googled it and it didn't help me. I talked to my doctor about it a lot and she was able to reassure me. I go in 2x per week and get an NST each time plus a weekly ultrasound so I can see how the baby is doing a lot as well. Pre-E is not something to mess around with but the info out there isn't always right.
i do... i was just in the hospital a week for it. blech.
dr. put me on moderate bed rest, which means 3 hours doing whatever light housework/chores/random stuff, and then 1 hour laying down. I also have to take my bp and hb morning and night. if it goes above 140/90, he wants me to lay down an hour, take it again, and if it hasn't gone down, i need to call him asap.
Not officially but since 24 weeks I've been on modified BR because of high BP and protein in my urine. It sucks BIG time!!! Last time I was diagnosed with pre-e at 37 weeks.
I am being watched cautiously at the moment because of concern that I could get pre e
I have been doing 24 hour urine tests once a week with blood tests and 2x a week NST My protein levels were up to 255 and they said they woud worry if it went up to 300

I know we won't make 40 weeks and blood pressure has been a little high when I take it at home. Are you on bedrest too?
I can't help but feel I did something to cause this - my job is really stressful and I was working 12-13 hour days up until this weekend.
