So two kinda interesting things happened. First we asked her to verify if possible that she is actually a "SHE". I kept seeing what looked like a scrot but not the rest of the boy bits. She said it could be a boy and just so swollen that she can't see the rest of the boy bits or that it is a girl who is VERY swollen. She said that in her heart she would agree it's a girl, but she's not 100%.
Second, LO is measuring TODAY at 8 pounds already. They said she could be around 9 to 9.5 pounds at birth and we all know it can be off either direction. Now we have to try to decide before we talk to the OB on Monday what we are thinking in terms of birth as they have basically already told me it will ultimately be my decision whether we want to risk her shoulder sticking (like E's) or if we want to go for the c/s. I know they'll guide me on Monday, but I want to think through a c/s before I do. BUT measuring almost 2 weeks ahead on almost ALL my measurements! HOLY COW!
Re: I had an ultrasound...
Did they get a clear shot at your 20w scan? It could very well be her parts are just very swollen. Honestly unless you saw something definitive today, and they weren't sure at 20 weeks, I think she's most likely still a girl.
Good luck with your decision on whether or not to have a c/s!
At the 20w, they couldn't find anything to the contrary and she looked quite a bit. But they couldn't see the 3 lines that I have heard they would typically see with a girl.

Wow! I'm sure that was a shock-- did you just ask them to verify just to be 100% or were there some doubts after your 20w scan? I agree w/ Mrs.george, boy parts are hard to miss but you never know...
As for the growth scan, how big was Eli? I know you said he had the shoulder dystocia (sp?) was that solely because of his size? Just try and keep in mind that the farther along you are the more difficult it is to get clear measurements since things get kind of squished in there. Good luck with whatever you decide! Keep us updated!!
Gotcha. Well, not having seen the images, I'm still going to go with "probably a girl", but at least you know that it's not out of the realm of possibility that it could be a boy.
Good luck with your decision for the birth.. I'm hoping to VBAC with this one but know it will be more of a last minute decision.. Hugs Mama.
I don't want to scare you.... but friends of mine went for an u/s at 38 weeks thinking they were having a girl. Hand made linens, everything they had said "girl." They found out that day that it was, for sure, a boy. They now have a toddler.... boy. And he was a big baby (near 10 lbs if not over)
I hope for your sake that your baby is a "she." I know that the instance I gave above is a rare one, but it can happen. If your baby is really a boy, I think I will really be skeptical of all moms having "girls" from here on out.
I got a chuckle from your last sentence. I was consistently 10 weeks ahead. Ha!
Hope everything turns out like you want and that there is a little girl in there.

I did actually meet a lady in IKEA who was told she was having a girl at her 20 week ultrasound, and then had a boy. However, they did actually see his boy parts on the later u/s. Since you didn't see anything, I think it's safe to say you're having a girl, and as a mom of three girls, I will say yes, they are born very swollen.
