The Everlasting Cold (vent)

I am getting really frustrated with the fact that LO got mild RSV in early February and then a cold 2 weeks ago right as he was getting better. It won't go away, or he keeps getting hit with new versions at daycare.

He has now had a cough and/or cold for 6 weeks. My heart breaks hearing the poor little guy cough and it waking him up at night here and there (otherwise I am pretty sure he would still be STTN). He was checked last week and his lungs were clear and they could not see in his ears for an infection- but no fever and no real fussiness. Just the stupid cough and intermittent stuffy nose.

His 4 month appointment is on Monday and I hope he is better by then or the doc and reassure me that my kid will eventually be 100% healthy again.

 ARGH!

Re: The Everlasting Cold (vent)

  • We've had the same problem and I'm actually getting over my own 4 week version of it. My doctor told me the average baby get 6-8 colds during the cold/flu season and that if he/she is in day care, double that. No fun :(. Hope he feels better!

  • Yup, my DD has the everlasting cough too!  She's had it all winter.  She's been sick since Sunday with a virus (fever, throwing up, no appetite).  Today she is finally showing signs of progress...eating a few things now!   I took her to the doctor this past Tuesday and he also said lungs and ears are fine....just a virus that needs to run its course (7-10 days).

Hope your LO feels better soon!
