DS is doing so great, and has very few accidents. I am amazed at how well he is actually doing with pottying and actually telling us.
But I am so annoyed by asking him every time we leave a place that has a bathroom if he has to go then he says no. We just get on the road and he says "Have to go pee" or "I have to go poo". We how stopped at Jack in the Box and a Taco Time 2 or 3 times when we are out for a few hours.
I sure am gald that he is at least telling us.
Re: Potty training while out an about
My DD does this and she's 9!
Maybe take him to bathroom before you leave a place that has one, even if he says he doesn't have to go.

DS decided to potty train last week so in the same boat but I tell him (if we have been somewhere for awhile and he's had food/drink) that we are going to the bathroom before we leave. It's not a question we just go - sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. They don't really understand that they have to until they really really have to at this point so they can't yet anticipate all that well. Kind of but not totally. I also keep a small baby bjorn potty in the car for emergencies as well.

we go before we leave the house and every 45 minutes or so... something like mygym class we go when we get there too... otherwise we often go when we leave...
same as sunmountain said.
When we were potty training, even now actually, he has to go try before we leave the house.
I also kept a small bjorn potty in the back of my car for use when we were out. We used it quite abit at the I5 park n ride/silver lake exit. It was easier then using dirty rest stop or unknown bathrooms.
Em has to go potty before we leave, if she doesn't go at home, then we make the bathroom our first stop when we get to the store. Then, we always go before we leave, unless it's been a super, super short trip and I know she can make it home.
