Am I overthinking this? Glucose tolerance test (again I appologize)

I was supposed to do my GTT a month ago but my midwife gave me the wrong form so they just did a random blood sugar test (no OJ). Now, because it's getting late to do it, she had me do the 2 hour fasting one.

I was really tired last night (it was my day off- I usually work till 12AM and go to sleep about 2AM) so I went to bed at 11:30 with DH who snored all night long. At midnight, I still wasn't asleep so I went and slept in the guest room (he would not stop snoring). Then he woke up at 2AM to go to the bathroom, I woke up and thought it would be safe to go back to our bed- nope- he kept snoring. So I went back to the guest room. 6:30 AM comes and he comes in to get dressed for work (he keeps his work clothes in that closet) and I am wide awake (I usually get up about 10AM- I leave for work at 3PM) so I decide I may as well do the test today and get there for 7:30AM. They asked if I had any 'symptoms' during the test and of course 'fatigue' is among them. I hate worrying- I'm probably just tired from crappy sleep and getting up early- not glucose right?

  • I wouldn't worry.  Of course you are tired!!  The results will be based on the numbers, not how you were feeling.  Now go take a nap if you can!!

  • The fatigue they are referring to is a more chronic symptom than just a tired day after no sleep.

  • There's really no rhyme or reason to people's symptoms, from what I have noticed.

Some people get really sick during the test and tired afterwards and are fine, yet some have zero symptoms and fail.
