Schedule?

I still don't have my LO on a schedule during the day...this week I've tried to form somewhat of a schedule at night. I've been putting her down between 10-11. She will sleep until 4 or so and then wakes up again around 9. I'm just wondering, if any of yall put your LO's down later so they will sleep later? Do you have a schedule during the day? She weighed over 9lbs at her one month and was a lil over 7lbs at birth...so I know she's gaining weight and doing well. I'm nursing too, if that makes a difference!

Re: Schedule?

  • I am trying to move DS schedule back, first night trying it is tonight. He tends to sleep for hours in the late evening and only every 2-3 hours from midnight on. Hopefully I can get him to move that back a little bit. We will see if it is successful or not.

Otherwise he sets his own schedule so I would imagine that if we can get him to move his schedule back then everything would just move too? Haha, I have no idea but it is a nice thought though!

  • My LO goes down at 7 pm gets up around 10-1030 then sleeps til 330-400 and is up at 7 am and has a couple hours of awake time then sleeps pretty much all day (waking for feeding every 3 hours like clock work) until around 5 pm (sometimes gets up at 3 but still stays up til 7) and is up til 7pm

I don't know if that answered your question at all.  I am nursing as well.

  • Putting your baby to sleep later does NOT make them sleep later.  Early to bed, late to rise... not the other way around!

  • My DD's schedule is all messed up. She has started sleeping straight through from her midnight feeding until 7 a.m. (yay!) but where she used to always be asleep by 10 p.m., now she fusses during those late night hours until midnight. *sigh*

I'm going to try getting a bedtime routine established, for when I go back to work, and hope that that might help.

  • the only schedule we have is that I feed him every 2 hours during the day. At night I let him sleep as much as he wants, which is usually 2-2 1/2 hours.

This exactly. I have tried putting him to "bed" that doesn't work. I gave up he is ruling the house! He sleeps 2 hours and eats every 2 hours like clock work around the clock. I am very envious of you mommies who get some good sleep!  What I wouldn't give for him to sleep 4-5 hours at night!

Happy mommy to a sweet baby boy! CafeMom Tickers
