Did you send in something for your DC's birthday, like cake or cupcakes? What did you send?
DS had cake yesterday and then was sent home with a prepackaged thing of cotton candy. I don't care that he had the cake, but cotton candy? Really? I was thinking more like doing a small goody bag with yogurt raisins, Jammy Sammy's and maybe some other heathy-ish snacks. I was a little shocked at the cotton candy, TBH.
Re: Daycare moms: questions regarding birthdays
I sent in cupcakes, I didn't do goody bags for her school party, and other than maybe stickers, I don't thikn she's gotten any goody bags from school parties either.
Last yr I made cupcakes. You take chocolate cake mix and add a can of pumpkin nothing else. Stir and bake. It makes a less sugar but super yummy and moist chocolate cupcake.
This year I am sending a little something for her actual birthday but we are inviting her whole class to our house for her actual party. I know when kids have birthdays they have done things like a snack but have never gotten anything sent home.

My dc provider makes a little cake or cupcakes for each child's birthday - its the activity of the day. I haven't sent goody bags in for birthdays. I did for V-day but I also knew that this was something the dcp usually did and she's short a kid and therefor short on cash. It was just play doh and fruit snacks though - nothing too exciting.
OK. I actually meant a goody bag for snack time instead of cake or cupcakes. Maybe I'll skip it altogether. I'm not a baker.
I work FT, and although I throw DS a big bday party at home for friends/family, I don't send anything to daycare. I just don't have time during the week to deal with remembering one more thing than usual.
I thought about cupcakes but they're 2, do they really need sugar etc at this point? I figure they throw enough tantrums without the sugar in them, that putting more into their little systems might just make the daycare ladies go nuts lol.
