Has anyone tried Costco diapers?

Do they compare to any national brands (which ones)? I love their wipes, but I'm hesitant to try their diapers because you have to buy SO many. It's quite a commitment. The new Costco coupon book has diapers for $5 off in March, so that's tempting me. But I don't want to end up with 300 diapers that don't work for us.

Re: Has anyone tried Costco diapers?

  • I used them a lot in the beginning for DD and they worked fine. I heard that they are made by Huggies but I don't know if that's true. I later switched to Huggies just because they seemed to be about the same price as the Costco diapers once DD got into the bigger sizes.

  • I noticed these small circular clear deposits everytime my son wore Costco diapers.  It must be from Costco's diapers because he doesn't get them when he wears Pampers or Huggies.
  • I also heard that they are made by Huggies, I like them just fine, they are not as soft as Pampers but they work! Can you go in with someone and share a pack?
  • I never had a problem with CostCo diapers.  Good luck, Jenn
  • I've never had an issue with them though now with amazon mom, I get huggies for aobut the same price delivered to my door....

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the costco wipes!!!!

  • DD prefers Costco to Pampers and Huggies.  I really like them.  They work really well.
  • I hated them because they didn't fit DD right and she ALWAYS leaked out of the legs. It might be different now that she's not a newborn, but we haven't gone back.

  • I found them to be just "OK"... not worth making a special trip to Costco for.

We've been pretty satisfied with Target diapers.

They don't have a newborn size, which might have been your problem. I think they start at 1/2?

We've bought them and  found them comparable to Huggies. M&FIL used them the most and never had issues. I think, though, that Huggies are actually cheaper from Amazon Mom than Kirkland at Costco.

ETA - you can return anything to Costco (seriously, it's their policy). You could literally return half a box of diapers if you hated them.

  • we use Costco diapers & like them.  We do use huggies overnights for nighttime b/c now that he's not waking up as much at night, he tends to leak.  Part of the issue also may be that he needs to go up a size.
  • We were using Pampers and tried these based on the price as well as recommendations and didn't care for them.

Not sure what size you are looking at, but we have a ton of 1-2 size you are welcome to if you think you want them.

  • We tried them but DS was constantly leaking out of the front.  He leaks in Huggies too, so we use Pampers.

  • DS got really rashy when we tried them out.  Pampers (what we use now) and Huggies (which leaked for us) didn't have this problem.  Obviously most people don't have this problem, but just something to be aware of.  I wish we could use the Costco ones; I am tired of paying for Pampers!!

On another note, you can return the diapers if they don't work out for you, so nothing lost to try.  GL!

  • We used to use them, but DS got horrible diaper rash from them. Once I switched to Huggies, the rash never came back. I felt like I had more "up the back" leaks with the Costco ones as well.

The other annoying thing is that they don't have NB, only size 1/2 which is way too big for a NB.

  • I had been desperate to try them, but had the same fear (a giant box of diapers that we couldn't use).  I was lucky enough to have my boss, whose son had literally outgrown the diapers give me a box to try.

DD doesn't do well with Pampers, so we've only been using regular Huggies.  I found that they feel pretty much the same.  They are a bit larger in length for the size 3s and actually go higher in weight than Huggies.

What size do you need?  I'd be happy to put a few in the mail so you can try them out, but we only have size 3.
