NBR: Washers

We have a newer front load washer. It's probably about 2 1/2 years old. We just moved to a new house (and moved the washer/dryer with us). The speed cycle used to take about 45 minutes...and it's now taking about 3-4 HOURS! I'm going to call tomorrow.. but just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them? It's driving me crazy!!!

Re: NBR: Washers

  • Maybe it's off balance? I know mine has these little screws we're supposed to put back in when we move to prevent damage since the drum kind of hangs to help it balance loads. When ours has something big or gets off balance it stops during the spin cycle more to try to rebalance. I hope they figure it out! That's way too long for a load of laundry!!

  • We ended up going with a top loader for that reason...my mom had so many problems with her front load washer especially with mold and it breaking easily.  I think she had an LG which is supposed to be the best too.  We went with a GE top loader that is agitator-less and can fit a king size comforter...it's wonderful!

    GL!
