To anyone that has had a stranger rub/touch your belly, I apologize...

My mother is the world's worst random belly grabber/medical advice giver ever!

 

My whole life I have been trying to explain to my mom that strangers dont like being rubbed/touched by other strangers.  She doesnt care and always tells me, 'she didnt mind me touching her, if she did she would have said something' The problem is that no one tells her no and my mom is not good at picking up on non verbal cues that show how uncomfortable the other person is.  She will walk right up to a pregnant woman and rub the belly and proceed to tell them the sex of the baby, what position they are in and if the baby will come early or late.  

 She also will try and discipline random kids in a store/restaurant if she thinks the parents arent doing a good enough job of it. Or go up to strangers and let them know exactly what will cure those warts on their hands or sores on their face etc.   

 I bring this up now because my mom did it again today, she walked right up to a woman, rubbed her belly and said, 'It's a boy, you are carrying low' To which the lady responded, 'I'm not pregnant!' Hopefully this experience will teach her a lesson for the future. 

So on behalf of my mom and other crazy people that think this kind of behaviour is perfectly acceptable, I apologize.

    Oh gawd, that is awesome!! I wonder if the lady was just screwing with her...just because she doesn't like her pregnant belly to be touched?!

    Thanks for the laugh! I am constantly amazed at the things people will say and do to a pregnant woman, I generally find it amusing, thought I surely won't when I am no linger pregnant but look like it!

    I am not sure if the  lady was messing with my mom or not but I wish I could have taken a picture of my mom's face, PRICELESS! 

    The sad thing is that this probably won't deter her from doing it again.

    Wow....  That is crazy!  Good for the lady to kinda put her in her place... maybe it will at least make your mom think twice before approaching a stranger?!  I haven't minded people touching my belly, I actually haven't had too much of it, but there is this woman at work that is starting to get on my nerves EVERY day she makes me waddle over to her so she can say goodmorning to the baby!  URGH!  I have a week left and I'm not sure I can bite my tounge anymore!
