how late have you flown whilst pregnant

DH and I are planning to TTC #2 next month. We're having a family celebration for my parents golden wedding anniversary in October.

If we got pregnant straight away I'd be 31 weeks along.

The celebrations will be a 3 1/2hr flight away.

The airline we plan to travel with requires that after 29 weeks that you have a medical certificate stating that there is no medical reason not to fly.

Obviously if there was any medical reason not to fly we would simply have to stay home. But I know some people say it is always risky to fly whilst pregnant.

So I know there's a lot of "if" in this story. If we get pregnant...if the pregnancy is complication free etc etc etc, but what is your comfort zone for flying whilst pregnant?

We could put off TTC for a month, so I'd be more like 27 weeks. But of course there's nothing to say we'll get pregnant straight away, although we did with our daughter.

I flew from NY to Denver for a job interview at 35 weeks.

I had all my medical records and the dr's okay. No one at the airlines even questioned me or looked funny, but you definitely need to walk around when you can and those bathrooms are hard to move in and out of on the plane.

33 weeks, I think? It was a 3 hour flight and everything was fine.

I think you need to talk to your OB about this. My cutoff for air travel was 30 weeks, and I had zero complications with my pregnancy. I still think he was super conservative, but I followed his "strong recommendation" that I don't fly after 30 weeks.

I flew a lot during my pregnancy, but the latest was 34 weeks. I took a note from my doctor but no one asked for it. I don't think it's a big deal at all as long as you're complication-free and not at-risk for pre-term labour.

I fly a lot - like 1-2X per month. I am planning on stopping any air travel around 33/34 weeks. Thats just what I'm comfortable with. With my last pregnancy I flew around 30 weeks was the latest. The only risk really is blood clots & you can wear compression hose or just get up and walk around a lot on the plane.

The first time I flew while pregnant, I was about 27-28 weeks. The second time (my second pregnancy), I was about 12-13 weeks. My doc wrote me a note when I flew during my first pg since I was decently far along... just in case... but no one ever asked to see it.

I flew at 32 weeks. It was a short flight, about 2 hours. Noone asked for any type of documentation or doctor's note. Noone seemed to notice that I was even pregnant, though a fellow passenger did help me to get my luggage in and out of the overhead bin.

My last flight pregnant was at 7 months. I chose not to fly any later than that mostly due to comfort. I was pretty miserable by that point. I think my Ob didn't want me flying past 36 weeks.

I flew at 34 weeks: 4 hrs, connection, then 2 more hours. My feet and hands were so swollen upon arrival...I probably wouldn't fly that late again from a comfort standpoint, unless it was a short flight.
