Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

13 month olds: how many teeth?

DS is slow getting his teeth. He has three, all on the bottom. The last week or so he has been so cranky, fussy, refusing to eat (you may have seen my posts...), etc. Well he is eating and drinking more, which is great. But he has never been this uncomfortable from teething, if that is what's going on. I can't see or feel anything. I'm just curious how many teeth your LO has and if the teething gets worse with certain teeth...

Re: 13 month olds: how many teeth?

  • Teething does not bother my DD at all.  The only thing we ever notice is that she will make weird faces and sucks her lips in.  DD got her 2 lower teeth at 7 months and her 2 upper teeth at 10 months.  About 3 weeks ago I noticed a few teeth and when I counted last week she had 10 coming in.

  • DS had 8 teeth by that time. Now he has 12 and molars were the roughest.

  • 12 teeth total. 4 Molars almost broken in enough to use. Agree with PP the molars are rough. Picky eating and sometimes tires quickly. DD has been sucking on fingers and fists and toys. Hang in there the longer it takes for teeth to come in the healthier and stronger.

  • DD1 had just gotten her first tooth at about 12.5 months. She's a really late teether, she's 21 months now and only has 11 teeth.

  • At 13 months she had 8 teeth.  She now has 10 with 2 more molars on their way.  ITA that molars are the roughest.

  • DS is getting his 8th tooth now. It hasn't been too bad yet. He will cry, but orajel works wonders. I've heard the eye teeth and molars are bad though, so we'll see going forward.

  • My DS is 18 months and only has 6 teeth.  I was worried about this (he was born in WV after all! Stick out tongue).  He hasn't gotten a tooth in 7 months!  The pedi said it was fine, you can feel the teeth under his gums so he will have teeth! She said they remain healthier under the gums longer.  I worry about him chewing (gumming) some table foods though.

  • We've got 12. The 4 molars were the worst, but his amber teething necklace made a world of difference!  We could tell a huge difference on the days he wasn't wearing it.

  • DS had 3 or 4 teeth at that age.  Some teeth are worse than others.  The bigger teeth can take a really long time to come in (DS's molars took months), but only seemed to bother him occasionally during that time.
DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.
  • DD is 13 months old and she has 5 teeth. 2 on bottom and some what of 3 on top. The ones on top have no grown all the way in they have just broke the gum and are working their way down.

  • We have 8, 4 top, 4 bottom, and now I have to wait until she is sleeping to check for more - if I try to check while she is awake, she clamps those 8 down on my finger!

  • DS has all but his 4 canines and the 2nd molars. yes, some teeth are worse than others. His first tooth he was a slobbery mess and his canines have made him miserable (stuffy/running nose/ periodic low grade fever) We're hoping the canines are soon completely broken through. We can see they are close, but they still haven't broken the gums.

  • DS has 4 on top and 3 on the bottom and he hasn't had any new one coming in for atleast 3 months how ... I think the 4th tooth on the bottom will be next though?

  • Oz has 9, but I think he's cutting more. He will NOT let me into his mouth to check though.
  • she has 8 and she got 6 of those within 3 weeks of each other. Somewhere around 11 months old. They were growing like weeds.

  • 10 that we've discovered.  4 top front; 4 bottom front; 1 molar top right and 1 molar bottom right.

  • DD got her first and only tooth at 16mos. but she's been teething forever. The past few days she's been extra cranky so I think her second bottom one is coming.
